City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />March 22, 2016 <br />Page 5 <br />1 Councilmember Stille stated although water main breaks were down this year this <br />2 will continue to decrease with the street projects. <br />4 Councilmember Jenson noted he has heard comments about the Department's responsiveness to <br />5 calls and how professional the staff is. <br />6 <br />7 Mayor Faust thanked the Department for its due diligence. The Department has embraced <br />8 sustainability. It is astounding the streets are swept 9 times. The LMC Insurance is lower because <br />9 the low number of worker's compensation claims. Training is instrumental in eliminating these <br />10 types of claims. This Department does a great job for the City. <br />11 <br />12 VII. REPORTS FROM CITY MANAGER AND COUNCIL MEMBERS. <br />13 <br />14 Mr. Casey stated City Hall will be closed for Good Friday. <br />15 <br />16 Councilmember Brever had no report. <br />17 <br />18 Councilmember Jenson stated last Wednesday he attended the meeting with the History <br />19 Committee. An open house was held on March 5, 2016 for the newly published book, of which <br />20 100 copies were sold. Future events will be held to sell the book. <br />21 <br />22 Councilmember Stille stated on March 19, 2016 he stopped into the liquor store where there was <br />23 an event for the Comp Plan. There will be other opportunities to continue dialog with Council <br />24 representatives. <br />25 <br />26 Mayor Faust stated on March 14, Mr. Casey and he attended the Regional Council of Mayors <br />27 Meeting, which was dedicated to water, as it is an ongoing concern. 40% of the water use in the <br />28 summer is for outdoor use. Residents should consider ways to manage water use. He stated many <br />29 other agency representatives attended this meeting. The next meeting will also continue the water <br />30 discussion. On March 16, he met the new State Senator and saw the new Capitol building. <br />31 <br />32 VIII. COMMUNITY FORUM - NONE <br />33 <br />34 IX.
