-5- <br /> Councilman Springer proposed the organization of a Long Range Capital Improve- <br /> ment Committee to make recommendations on improvements for budget planning. <br /> It was suggested that priorities be set up for improvements such as, Lighting <br /> programs, sidewalks, Parks, street improvement projects, Village Hall planting <br /> etc. The members of the Council expressed the opinion that the projection <br /> for improvements be limited from two to four years. The Mayor requested each <br /> Council Member submit his recommendations to the Village Manager for present- <br /> ation at the next meeting. <br /> A report on labor union negotiations for the year 1967 was discussed at length. <br /> The Council was informed that a 5% wage increase had been negotiated with <br /> Local #49 and the Liquor Store Clerks, 10t an hour for bartenders, and area <br /> adjustments in the police Dept. to $625.00 for patrolman and 675.00 for <br /> sergeant. Recommendations for "immediate family" funeral leave of 3 days with <br /> pay was to be included over the 1965 benefits. <br /> Councilman Sorenson introduced Resolution No. 66-079 and moved it be adopted. <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 66-079 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND VILLAGE <br /> MANAGER TO EXECUTE LABOR UNION CONTRACT AGREE- <br /> MENTS FOR 1967 BETWEEN THE VILLAGE AND UNION <br /> REPRESENTATIVES OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, MAINT- <br /> ENANCE DEPARTMENT, BARTENDERS, AND LIQUOR STORE <br /> CLERKS . <br /> The Resolution was duly seconded by Councilman Bailey. <br /> Voting on the Resolution: <br /> Aye: O'Connor, Dougherty, Springer, Bailey, Sorenson <br /> Nay: None <br /> Resolution declared adopted. <br /> Mayor O'Connor introduced Resolution No. 66-080 and moved that it be adopted. <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 66-080 <br /> RESOLUTION PETITIONING THE MINNESOTA COMMISSIONER <br /> OF HIGHWAYS TO SET THE SPEED OF MOTOR VEHICLES ON <br /> OLD HIGHWAY #8 WITHIN THE VILLAGE CORPORATE LIMITS . <br /> The Resolution was duly seconded by Councilman Bailey. <br /> Voting on the Resolution: <br /> Aye: O'Connor, Bailey, Sorenson <br /> Nay: Springer, Dougherty <br /> rs Resolution declared adopted. <br />
