After discussion of the 2nd <br /> q uarter report of--the Municipal Liquor Stores, Councilman Dougherty asked for <br /> a breakdown of on-sale salary expense and he was informed that he would be <br /> provided with one for the September 12th meeting. <br /> The Council directed that a letter be sent to the Suburban Hennepin County Relief <br /> Board requesting that banks participating in the Federal Food Stamp Plan be loc- <br /> ated in areas reasonably convenient to those using the program. <br /> Richard Fudali, esquire, appeared before the Council regarding the Diamond Eight <br /> Apartment Sign. After considerable discussion the Village Manager was directed <br /> to examine the files to determine whether a permit had been issued for the sign <br /> prior to the adoption of the Sign Ordinance. <br /> Mrs. Edward W. Julkowski appeared regarding the construction of a fence on <br /> Village property adjacent to the storm sewer holding pond in the Village of New <br /> Brighton. After discussion, the Council informed Mrs. Julkowski that the Village <br /> wished to keep the property free of fencing. The Village Manager was directed to <br /> tike the necessary steps to have a private fence removed from Village property <br /> on the north side of the holding pond. <br /> A request for waiver of late payment fee at 3000 Croft Drive was denied. <br /> Informal bids for the installation of a conversion gas burner for Ligyor Store <br /> #1 were reviewed and voice approval given to the low bid of the Minneapolis gas <br /> Company at a bid price of #395.00. <br /> Mr. Ohlin, Baskin-Robbins, appeared regarding the previous denial of a canopy <br /> sign. After considerable discussion, Mayor O'Connor moved and seconded by Coun- <br /> cilman Dougherty that the request for a canopy sign be approved conditioned upon <br /> the ei4m4nntinn of the flasher provision of the o. posed sign. <br />
