-3- <br /> The Council reviewed the list of judges for the Village Election scheduled <br /> for November 7, 1967, following which it was moved by Councilman Bailey and <br /> seconded by Councilman Dougherty to designate the following as judges of the <br /> Village Municipal election to be held on November 7, 1967: Hennepin Precinct <br /> #1-Marcella Ahles, Patricia Bridgeman, Clara Higgins, Ethel Plasek, Lois Taylor <br /> Hennepin Precinct #2-Evelyn Anderson, Vernette Anderson, Mary Bauer, Bernice <br /> Gustafson, Ruth Harris, Donna Nickerson, Marion Rickett; RamseX Precinct 1- <br /> Darlene Friedland, Bernice Kieffer, Ruth Nelson, Eleanor Johnson, Catherine <br /> Blum. <br /> Voting on the motions <br /> Aye: O'Connor, Dougherty, Bailey.. Emond, S{ringer <br /> Nay: None <br /> Motion Carried. <br /> The motion was made by Councilman Dougherty and seconded by Councilman <br /> Springer that the license application of Cronstroms Heating and the applicat- <br /> ions of the St. Anthony OX Service Station for cigarettes and for operation of <br /> a service station be approved. Upon vote the motion Carried. <br /> The Council discussed the notification that a decertification proceeding had <br /> been initiated with the State in order to obtain one bargaining agent for <br /> • employees of the Municipal Liquor Store. They requested that the Manager keep <br /> them apprized of the developments. <br /> The Councilmen reviewed the verified claims following which it was moved by <br /> Councilman Bailey seconded by Councilman Dougherty to approve the verified <br /> claims. The Council discussed the continuing construction to property adjac- <br /> ent to Old Highway #8 in the vicinity of 33rd Avenue N.E. by Mr. Husnick of <br /> the Vadnais Construction Co. Following discussion it was moved by Councilman <br /> Dougherty and seconded by Mayor O'Connor that the Village Attorney be instruct- <br /> ed to initiate immediate action against the Vadnais Construction Co. to prev- <br /> ent the continued construction operation on property owned by the Village in <br /> the areas not properly zoned for multiple dwelling purposes. Upon vote there <br /> were five votes for and none against. <br /> The Council discussed the advertisement of a portion of the property owned <br /> by Sunset Memorial Cemetery by the David C. Bell Co. particularly the inform- <br /> ation with respect to the zoning of the property for industrial purposes <br /> and the sale of five acre tracts within the area. Following this discussion <br /> the Manager was directed to communicate with the David C. Bell Co. to instruct <br /> them that they will desist from such advertising until such time as they had <br /> complied with the platting and zoning requirements of the Village of <br /> St. Anthony. <br /> The Council noted that the Ramsey County Board of Commissioners at their <br /> meeting on September 18, 1967, had taken action awarding contracts for the <br /> • improvement of County Ditch #2 and County Ditch #3 as follows: The Northern <br /> Contracting Company on County Ditch #2 for a total contract sum of $285,037.75 <br /> and Orfie and Sons on County Ditch #3 for a total contract sum of $196,703.69. <br />
