After con- <br /> siderable discussion, Councilman Dougherty moved and seconded by Councilman <br /> Emond that the Firestone development plan be approved providing for a 250 sq. <br /> ft. variance in size of signs and also a variance in number of signs, and <br /> that proposed boulevard trees be located 101 from curb line. <br /> Voting on the motion: <br /> Ayes O'Connor, Dougherty, Emond <br /> Nay: Bailey, Springer <br /> "">Motion Carried. <br /> The proposed addition to the Berger Transfer building was reviewed. Council- <br /> man Bailey moved and seconded by Mayor O'Connor that the plan be approved <br /> as recommended by the Planning Board. <br /> \ Motion Carried. <br /> ThCe Medtronics parking proposal was discussed at length. The ouncil agreed <br /> that the 380 car parking lot was adequate. Councilman Dougherty moved and <br /> seconded by Councilman Springer that preliminary approval be given to the <br /> Medtronics parking plane and that the proposal be returned to the Planning <br /> Board for traffic flow studies as to ingress & egress on Old Highway #8. <br /> • ' ,-Motion Carried. <br /> The report of the Village Attorney regarding Johnson Florists was discussed. <br /> Mr. Leba inquired as to whether the other wholesale establishments visited <br /> were in a commercial or industrial zone. Mr. Haik replied that he assumed <br /> they were commercial and had made no attempt to verify the zoning, but that <br /> the Johnson Florist operation as set up by the zoning ordinance was a legal <br /> operation in the Village. The matter of outlining permitted items to be sold <br /> was discussed. The Village Manager was directed to notify Mr. John Johnson <br /> that he was to cease the handling of building materials for resale at his <br /> Edwards St. plant. <br /> Various communications were received and ordered filed. The 3rd quarter <br /> Municipal Liquor Store report was reviewed and ordered filed. <br /> The Village Manager was directed to inform Mr. Dunphy that the Village was <br /> interested in acquiring lot 17, Block 11, Mounds View Acres 2nd Addition. <br /> Upon motion by Mayor O'Connor and seconded by Councilman Bailey it was moved <br /> that the payment of $3213.56 be released from the sewer escrow fund for pay- <br /> ment to the Village 6f Roseville, per invoice No. 978 dated November 2, 1967. <br /> Motion Carried. <br /> The Council gave verbal approval to a request of employees of Control Data <br /> • to hold a Christmas party dance at Apache Plaza December 15, 1967. <br /> A meeting was set for December 5, 1967, to meet with residents affected by <br /> the improvement of Silver Lane at 7:00 P.M. and with District 282 School <br /> Board at 8:00 P.M. / <br /> i <br />
