After discussion, Councilman Crouse moved and seconded by <br /> Mayor O'Connor that the proposal of Basic Industries, Inc. be approved subject to <br /> paving of parking area by June 1 , 1969 and a minimum of a 45 stall parking area, <br /> the posting of a planting bond in the amount of $1,000 and subject to compliance <br /> with the building code. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Motion by Councilman Crouse and seconded by Councilman Dougherty that approval be <br /> given to a replat proposal of three lots at 39th and Shamrock Drive, said lots to <br /> be divided in the following width: 781, 991, 901• <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Motion by Mayor O'Connor and seconded by Councilman Emond that the Huebner proposal <br /> for the presentation of a preliminary plat be approved. <br /> Voting on the motion. <br /> Aye: O'Connor, Springer, Crouse, Emond. <br /> • May: Dougherty. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Bids for the construction of a shelter at Central Park were received as follows : <br /> 1 . Reco Construction Co. - $38,000.00, base bid. <br /> 2. Thor Construction Co. - $32,014.00, base bid. <br /> 3. Renoy Construction Co. - $29,460.00, base bid. <br /> 4. Lawson Building Co. - $31,987.00, base bid. <br /> After discussion, Councilman Crouse moved and seconded by Councilman Dougherty that <br /> the bids for the construction of a Central Park shelter be rejected as being too <br /> high. Councilman Emond stated that he felt the shelter should be built and that <br /> the 1969 proposal for a hockey warming house be set back to 1970. Councilman <br /> Dougherty stated that he felt the bids too high. <br /> Voting on the motion. <br /> Aye: O'Connor, Crouse, Dougherty. <br /> Nay: Springer, Emond. <br /> • Motion carried. <br /> Mr. Jim Ruvelson, Macey Sign Company, appeared regarding the Mr. Hobo sign. Mr. <br /> Ruvelson reviewed the philosophy of signs in advertising. The matter was discussed <br /> at length by the Council . No action was taken on the matter. <br />
