-2- Motion 2-Motion by Councilman Emond, seconded by Councilman Crouse, that Ordinance 1969-8 be approved for the third and final reading. ORDINANCE 1969-8 AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO VILLAGE EMPLOYEES, AMENDING SECTION 110.13, SUBDIVISION 1 AND 2 AND SECTION 110.18 OF THE 1968 CODE OF ORDINANCES. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Crouse and seconded by Councilman Dougherty that Ordinance 1969-9 be approved for the third and final reading. ORDINANCE 1969-9 AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO LOAD LIMITS ON PUBLIC STREETS, AMENDING SECTION 140.01 OF THE 1968 CODE OF ORDINANCES. Voting on the motion: Aye: O'Connor, Crouse, Emond, Dougherty. Nay: Levandowski. Motion carried. The Council reviewed the offer received from Robert E. Rylander, 5541-44th Ave- nue South, Minneapolis, Minnesota, 55417, pertaining to an aerial ladder fire truck, including equipment, which is presently in the ownership of the City of New Ulm. The proposal to the Council would deliver the equipment to the Village of St. Anthony when a new fire truck is delivered to the City of New Ulm, delivery of which is expected approximately September, 1969. A discussion ensued concern- ing the necessity for obtaining the equipment and its value in light of its age. Councilman Dougherty inquired as to the reason why the Public Safety Director was not present at the meeting to review the matter, particularly since he had request- ed that the Public Safety Director be present at the meeting. Motion by Council- man Dougherty, seconded by Councilman Levandowski , to table consideration of submission of a bid for the aerial fire truck. Voting on the motion: Aye: Levandowski , Dougherty. Nay: O'Connor, Emond, Crouse. Motion defeated. Motion by Mayor O'Connor, seconded by Councilman Emond, to authorize the Village • Manager to submit a bid for $4,000.00 for the fire truck. Voting on the motion: Aye: O'Connor, Emond, Crouse. Nay: Dougherty, Levandowski .
