-3- <br /> Motion carried. <br /> The Village Manager was directed to include a letter with the water bills to the <br /> residents of the Village, informing them that the Village now has a pollution <br /> control ordinance. <br /> Motion by Councilman Emond and seconded by Councilman Crouse to approve the request <br /> of the League of Women Voters for temporary signs at 33rd Avenue and Silver Lake <br /> Road, regarding the Candidates' Meeting and vote reminder. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> The Mayor declared a ten minute recess at 9:15 .P.M. <br /> The meeting was reconvened at 9:25 P.M. All present who answered opening roll call. <br /> The representatives from the Village High School Student Council discussed at some <br /> length with the Village Council the problems of vandalism, pollution-Silver Lake <br /> and street lighting and also the possibility of a Teen Recreation Center in the <br /> Village. <br /> Terry Hoffmann from the Jaycees reported that they are waiting for information from <br /> the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency regarding the problems of pollution on <br /> Silver Lake. <br /> Motion by Councilman Englund and seconded by Councilman Crouse authorizing the <br /> Village Manager to make application for the Federal Grant for equipment, etc. for <br /> the Public Safety Department as outlined in the application. <br /> Voting on the motion: <br /> Aye: Crouse, Miedtke, Emond, Englund <br /> Nay: Levandowski <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Motion by Councilman Emond and seconded by Mayor Miedtke authorizing the Minnea- <br /> polis Gas Company to make a 3 x 4' excavation to repair a gas main at 3317-19 <br /> Belden Drive as requested. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Motion by Councilman Levandowski and seconded by Councilman Emond to pay the <br /> statement from Hall, Smith, Juster, Feikema and Haskvitz in the amount of $210.00 <br /> for services rendered for the last part of August and the first part of September, <br /> 1970. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Motion by Councilman Crouse and seconded by Councilman Englund to grant the license <br /> to Dairy Queen Restaurant as requested. <br /> Motion carried. <br />
