CITY OF ST. ANTHONY <br /> • COUNCIL MINUTES <br /> July 23, 1974 <br /> The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. by Councilman Sundland, Mayor Pro Tem. <br /> The following were present at roll call: Haik, Sauer and Sundland. <br /> Also present: Jerry Dulgar, City Manager <br /> Curtis Stine, City Attorney <br /> Jim Fornell, Adm. Asst. <br /> Absent: Miedtke, Stauffer <br /> The following amendment was made to the minutes of the July 9, 1974 meeting: <br /> Page 3-Para. 6: Strike "between municipal councils and city management" and <br /> insert "within governmental bodies". <br /> Motion by Councilman Sauer, seconded by Councilman Haik to approve the minutes <br /> of the July 9, 1974 Council meetings as amended. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> At the request of Councilman Haik, the City Attorney agreed to provide further <br /> • data on the involvement of the attorney in the Sunset Memorial lawsuit. <br /> Motion by Councilman Haik, seconded by Councilman Sauer to approve the minutes <br /> of the Special Council Meeting July 15, 1974• <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Discussion of the minutes of the Planning Board meeting July 16, 1974 was de- <br /> layed until the arrival of Mr. Letourneau after the Council was advised that the — = <br /> request to rezone Lot 12, Block 1, of St. Anthony Office Park for a McDonald's <br /> restaurant had been withdrawn. <br /> Mr. Fornell's memorandum containing the cost estimates for a newsletter on <br /> a bi-monthly or quarterly basis for 1975 was discussed and Councilman Haik again <br /> expressed her interest in an annual calendar while Councilman Sundland felt there <br /> was still a need for publication of projected street improvements information. <br /> Councilman Sauer said he felt the City was getting better news coverage from the <br /> Sun Newspapers. Mr. Dulgar speculated if a calendar of events for the City could <br /> not be included in the informational booklet put out by the League of Women Voters. <br /> No action was taken. <br /> The Council was unable to arrive at a date for a meeting with the representative <br /> of the Springsted Company after Mr. Dulgar reported that Mr. Pulscher would be <br /> unable to attend a lunch meeting the week of August 4-10 at which possible <br /> methods of assessments for street improvements could be discussed. Mr. Dulgar <br /> said that the soil borings findings had not yet been evaluated by the City Engin- <br /> eer but also told the Council that improvements being made by Minneapolis on <br /> Stinson Boulevard would result in 29th Avenue N.E. being used as a detour to <br /> Johnson Street N.E. and other plans for redirection of traffic around the St. <br /> Anthony Shopping Center might also increase traffic on 29th Avenue and might <br /> affect the decision to upgrade 29th this year. <br />
