CITY OF ST. ANTHONY • COUNCIL MINUTFS October 22, 1974 The meeting was called to order by Mayor Miedtke at 7:35 P.M. The following i+ere present for roll call: Haik, Sundland, Miedtke Absent: Sauer and Stauffer Also present: Jerry Dulgar, City Manager Larry Vickrey, City Attorney Jim Fornell, Adm. Asst. Councilman Stauffer arrived at 7:36 P.M. The following amendments were made to the Council minutes of October 8, 1974: Page 4, para. 4: . . ."with the financing coming from the City of New Brighton, New Brighton School District #11282. . . ." Page 5, last para. : Change (October Frest to "Fall Festival") Page 5 and 6 should be correctly numbered Page 5, para. 4 : change"and payment of" to "in the amount of" Motion by Councilman Sundland, seconded by Councilman Haik to approve the minutes of October 81 1974 as amended. • Motion carried. Marlys Berg, Chairman of the Human Relations Committee presented the minutes of her group's meeting of October 15, 1974 and the committee's report on programs in the community which serve the senior citizens and also told of the foster homes for adults program in the area. The Mayor commended Mrs. Berg for the excellence of the report and there followed a discussion of how the catalogue of services available in the community could be distributed to the elderly. Motion by Councilman Stauffer, seconded by Councilman Haik to accept the report on services available to the senior citizens from the Community Services Advisory Committee and to direct the Manager to inform the civic organizations of the availability of the catalogue of programs. Motion carried. Mr. Letourneau presented the recommendations from the Planning Board's minutes of October 15, 1974. He said the Board had recommended not granting a side yard variance to Mrs. Dale Michaelhoff to build a 68 foot house on the 78 foot lot at 3604 Downers Drive because they had recommended against variances in the zoning ordinance in the pest. Mrs. Michaelhoff presented the plans for the house and Mr. & Mrs. Ralph Amundson, • 3 .24 Highcrest Drive, owners of the lot in question defended the proposal. Council- man Haik said she had been under the impression that Mrs. Michaelhoff had previous- ly said she could pare down the size of the house but Mrs. Michaelhoff pointed out her reasons for being unwilling to do so.
