CITY OF ST. ANTHONY <br /> • COUNCIL MINUTFS <br /> October 22, 1974 <br /> The meeting was called to order by Mayor Miedtke at 7:35 P.M. <br /> The following i+ere present for roll call: Haik, Sundland, Miedtke <br /> Absent: Sauer and Stauffer <br /> Also present: Jerry Dulgar, City Manager <br /> Larry Vickrey, City Attorney <br /> Jim Fornell, Adm. Asst. <br /> Councilman Stauffer arrived at 7:36 P.M. <br /> The following amendments were made to the Council minutes of October 8, 1974: <br /> Page 4, para. 4: . . ."with the financing coming from the City of New Brighton, <br /> New Brighton School District #11282. . . ." <br /> Page 5, last para. : Change (October Frest to "Fall Festival") <br /> Page 5 and 6 should be correctly numbered <br /> Page 5, para. 4 : change"and payment of" to "in the amount of" <br /> Motion by Councilman Sundland, seconded by Councilman Haik to approve the minutes <br /> of October 81 1974 as amended. <br /> • Motion carried. <br /> Marlys Berg, Chairman of the Human Relations Committee presented the minutes of <br /> her group's meeting of October 15, 1974 and the committee's report on programs in <br /> the community which serve the senior citizens and also told of the foster homes <br /> for adults program in the area. <br /> The Mayor commended Mrs. Berg for the excellence of the report and there followed <br /> a discussion of how the catalogue of services available in the community could be <br /> distributed to the elderly. <br /> Motion by Councilman Stauffer, seconded by Councilman Haik to accept the report on <br /> services available to the senior citizens from the Community Services Advisory <br /> Committee and to direct the Manager to inform the civic organizations of the <br /> availability of the catalogue of programs. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Mr. Letourneau presented the recommendations from the Planning Board's minutes of <br /> October 15, 1974. <br /> He said the Board had recommended not granting a side yard variance to Mrs. Dale <br /> Michaelhoff to build a 68 foot house on the 78 foot lot at 3604 Downers Drive <br /> because they had recommended against variances in the zoning ordinance in the pest. <br /> Mrs. Michaelhoff presented the plans for the house and Mr. & Mrs. Ralph Amundson, <br /> • 3 .24 Highcrest Drive, owners of the lot in question defended the proposal. Council- <br /> man Haik said she had been under the impression that Mrs. Michaelhoff had previous- <br /> ly said she could pare down the size of the house but Mrs. Michaelhoff pointed out <br /> her reasons for being unwilling to do so. <br />
