-5- <br /> Fast, including 3 feet of redwood fence interspersed with a like amount of berm .i <br /> • and a screening planting of evergreen and provided that a ten foot easement <br /> along the west edge of the property be given to the City for possible use as <br /> a bike and pedestrian walkway. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Motion by Councilman Sundland, seconded by Councilman Haik to authorize the <br /> Manager to contact the State of Minnesota Highway Dept. about installing a <br /> temporary traffic signal and street lighting at the interesection of Highway 8 <br /> and St. Anthony Blvd. until such time as permanent installation can be made and <br /> also to request from Hennepin County the installation of lighting and additional <br /> traffic control devices at the intersections of Kenzie Terrace with St. Anthony <br /> Blvd. and Silver Lake Road. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> The Mayor reported that he had received the survey on library services compiled <br /> by Sharon Barich and that the results indicated a majority of thooe responding <br /> to the questionnaire would like to see the library facilities at 33rd and Silver <br /> Lake Road as an alternative to the present shopping center location. He will <br /> refer the survey to the Hennepin County Library Board. <br /> Councilman Sundland gave his reasons for favoring a discontinuance of member- <br /> ship in the Suburban Rate +uthority whose duties will be taken over by the <br /> Public Service Commission in January. Mr. Dulgar also said he could see no <br /> • reason for the services of the Authority. <br /> Motion by Councilman Sundland, seconded by Mayor Miedtke to discontinue the <br /> City of St. Anthony's membership in the Suburban Rate Authority effective <br /> January 1, 1975. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> The November 12th Ramsey County League Newsletter was filed as informational. <br /> Information from the Association of Metro Municipalities was filed after a <br /> discussion of the Association's December 12th meeting by the Mayor. <br /> Motion by Councilman Sauer, seconded by Councilman Sundland to approve payment <br /> of $2,608.59 to the City of St. Paul for the City of St. Anthony's final <br /> payment to St. Paul for sewer service. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> The Police and Fire Reports for October 1974 were filed. <br /> Motion by Councilman Sundland, seconded by Councilman Stauffer to approve <br /> payments of $197.11 and $882.53 to Comstock and Davis. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> . Motion by Councilman Sauer, seconded by Councilman Stauffer to approve payment <br /> of $35,727.30 to Henning Nelson for their work on the municipal liquor lounge <br /> and to direct the Manager to convey to the construction company the appreciation <br /> of the Council for the fine work they performed on the remodelling job. <br /> Motion carried. <br />
