ANTHONY <br /> COUNCIL MINUTES <br /> • September 9, 1975 <br /> The meeting was called to order by Mayor Miedtke at 7:30 P.M. <br /> Present at roll call : Sauer, Sundland, Miedtke, Stauffer and Haik. <br /> Also present: Jerry Dulgar, City Manager <br /> 4dm. Soth, City Attorney <br /> Jim Fornell , Adm. Asst. <br /> The following correction was made to the minutes of the August 26, 1975 Council <br /> meeting. <br /> Page 4, para. 8: Change "councilwoman" to "councilman" <br /> Motion by Councilman Sauer and seconded by Councilman Stauffer to approve the <br /> August 26th Council minutes as corrected. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> During the discussion of the minutes, Councilman Haik reported that the islands <br /> being built near Silver Lane on Silver Lake Road were not being constructed with <br /> the low curbs for bikers and Mr. Dulgar said he would investigate this since the <br /> City is paying $500 to have these improvements added to the upgrading of Silver <br /> • Lake Road. <br /> Jim Fornell said the Newsletter would be ready by November 1st and it was decided <br /> to delay the public meeting on the ordinance relating to sanitary sewers until <br /> this means of informing residents about the new regulations regarding draintile <br /> being hooked to the sanitary sewer and the meeting where they would be invited <br /> to comment had reached all City residents. <br /> Motion by Councilman Haik and seconded by Councilman Stauffer to set November 11 , <br /> 1975 as the date for a public meeting to discuss the proposed Ordinance 1975-005. <br /> ORDINANCE 1975-005 <br /> AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO SANITARY SEWERS: <br /> AMENDING SECTION 235 OF THE 1973 CODE OF <br /> ORDINANCES BY ADDING SECTION 235.41 <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Councilman Sauer reported on the recommendations of the Steering Committee <br /> appointed to find an acceptable method for upgrading 29th Avenue N.E. The drawings <br /> for the roadbed included 24 feet of driving lanes with 10 ft. parking bays or <br /> "nodes" on each side of the road. <br /> Councilman Sauer said the committee felt the beautification features of their <br /> proposal as well as the hope the design would slow down traffic would offset <br /> any difficulties the nodes might cause for snowplowing. He also said the City <br /> could substitute another street for 29th in order to avoid the loss of MSA <br /> funds. <br />
