• . CITY OF ST. ANTHONY COUNCIL MINUTES • September 9, 1975 The meeting was called to order by Mayor Miedtke at 7:30 P.M. Present at roll call : Sauer, Sundland, Miedtke, Stauffer and Haik. Also present: Jerry Dulgar, City Manager 4dm. Soth, City Attorney Jim Fornell , Adm. Asst. The following correction was made to the minutes of the August 26, 1975 Council meeting. Page 4, para. 8: Change "councilwoman" to "councilman" Motion by Councilman Sauer and seconded by Councilman Stauffer to approve the August 26th Council minutes as corrected. Motion carried unanimously. During the discussion of the minutes, Councilman Haik reported that the islands being built near Silver Lane on Silver Lake Road were not being constructed with the low curbs for bikers and Mr. Dulgar said he would investigate this since the City is paying $500 to have these improvements added to the upgrading of Silver • Lake Road. Jim Fornell said the Newsletter would be ready by November 1st and it was decided to delay the public meeting on the ordinance relating to sanitary sewers until this means of informing residents about the new regulations regarding draintile being hooked to the sanitary sewer and the meeting where they would be invited to comment had reached all City residents. Motion by Councilman Haik and seconded by Councilman Stauffer to set November 11 , 1975 as the date for a public meeting to discuss the proposed Ordinance 1975-005. ORDINANCE 1975-005 AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO SANITARY SEWERS: AMENDING SECTION 235 OF THE 1973 CODE OF ORDINANCES BY ADDING SECTION 235.41 Motion carried unanimously. Councilman Sauer reported on the recommendations of the Steering Committee appointed to find an acceptable method for upgrading 29th Avenue N.E. The drawings for the roadbed included 24 feet of driving lanes with 10 ft. parking bays or "nodes" on each side of the road. Councilman Sauer said the committee felt the beautification features of their proposal as well as the hope the design would slow down traffic would offset any difficulties the nodes might cause for snowplowing. He also said the City could substitute another street for 29th in order to avoid the loss of MSA funds.
