Councilman Sauer said he was opposed to having an
ordinance which wasn' t enforced all the time. Mayor Miedtke wanted the ordinance
changed to take care of snow plowing problems in winter but to set a 24 hour
limit on parking for the remainder of the year.
• Motion by Mayor Miedtke, seconded by Councilman Sauer to table action on
Ordinance 1975-007 to allow the attorney to change the wording.
Motion to table carried unanimously.
Motion by Councilman Sauer, seconded by Councilman Stauffer to adopt Resolution
75-037.
RESOLUTION 75-038
A RESOLUTION CONCERNING THE PROPOSED DESIGN
AND FINANCIMG OF 29th AVENUE N.E.
Before voting on the motion, the City Engineer provided the updated figures the
Council had requested from him for the costs of rebuilding 29th Aven!ie N.E.
He said the construction costs had gone up approximately IM since 1974 and
his 1976 construction cost estimates indicated the following:
Total estimated cost of building a 40 ft. 9 ton design to meet MSA standards
would be $362,137 of which 25% or an average of $1 ,200 would be levied against
each property owner.
Under the proposed parkway design the total cost for a 7 ton road would be
approximately $296,800 which would amount to an average of $4,000 to be levied
against each property owner. The total estimated figure to build a 5 ton road
under the same design would be $230,GOO with the average amount to be paid by
each property owner figured at $3,000.00. These figures did not reflect the
• credit which might be given for curb and gutter.
The engineer then gave the timetable he estimated would be required for the
project and said bids couid probably be taken by March 1 , 1976 for an MSA funded
road and a month earlier for either of the parkway designed roadways.
