• 3 <br /> Councilman Sundland then indicated his willingness to change his "nay" vote to <br /> • an "aye" because "he did not want to delay the inevitable approval of the <br /> project" but wanted the fact noted as a part of the official record that he <br /> had not been in favor of the move from the present city hall to Parkview from <br /> the time of its first consideration. <br /> Recall of the motion: <br /> Aye: Stauffer, Miedtke, Sundland <br /> Nay: Haik <br /> Motion carried. <br /> A discussion followed regarding the possibility of Hennepin County using the <br /> vacated portion of the city hall for a public library and Councilman Sundland <br /> said he did not think the Library Board would look with favor on using a <br /> building which is in close proximity to-a-liquor•rstore and lounge for a <br /> library. <br /> Motion by Councilman Haik, seconded by Councilman Sundland to approve for <br /> city employees the State Deferred Compensation Plan for Local Government <br /> Employees. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> • Motion by Councilman Stauffer, seconded by Councilman Sundland to direct the <br /> City Manager to contact the Postal Service regarding the possible designation <br /> of the City as "St. Anthony, Minnesota 55418 and 55421 and to indicate the <br /> Council 's approval of furthering the unofficial use of "St. Anthony Village" <br /> in reference to the City. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Congressman Fraser's letter regarding revenue bonds was filed as informational . <br /> Senator Roger Laufenburger's letter regarding the status of bills dealing <br /> with aid allotments for MSA streets was filed as informational . <br /> Motion by Mayor Miedtke, seconded by Councilman Stauffer to table action on <br /> Maplewood's resolution which would reduce additional property taxes on <br /> residential property improvements of a maintenance nature. Council will await <br /> recommendations from the League of Minnesota Municipalities regarding the <br /> resolution. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Motion by Councilman Haik, seconded by Councilman Sundland to approve the <br /> payment of $659.40 for city participation in the North Suburban Day Activity <br /> Center, Inc. <br /> Voting on the motion: <br /> Aye: Miedtke, Sundland, Haik <br /> Abstention: Stauffer (Because she does volunteer work there) <br /> Motion carried. <br />
