2
Mrs. Berg said she assumed that several questions the Council had regarding the
• reference in the minutes to the Metro Council 's contacts with HUD concerning
the rent subsidy program would be clarified at the Committee's next meeting.
Motion by Councilman Stauffer, seconded by Councilman Haik to accept the re-
signation of Marlys Berg from the Human Relations Committee and to direct that
a Certificate of Appreciation be presented to Marlys for her two years of
service to the City of St. Anthony.
Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Councilman Sundland, seconded by Councilman Stauffer to table action
on Ordinance 1975-007 until the October 28th Council meeting to enable Chief
Brown to present the Police Department's reasons for favoring the passage of
the ordinance.
Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Councilman Haik, seconded by Councilman Sundland to adopt Resolution
#1975-039.
RESOLUTION NO. 75-039
A RESOLUTIOM TRANSFERRING CETA MOP!IES
RECEIVED TO PAYROLL, PENSIONS AND INSURANCE
ACCOUNTS.
• Motion carried unanimously.
Fran Schuck of Constructive Design was unable to attend the meeting but his
plans for remodeling Parkview were studied and it was determined that the
questions raised concerning the placement of the vault room would be drawn to
Mr. Schuck's attention by Mr. Fornell and any revision of the plans can be made
by change order following the presentation of the plans to the District #282
School Board, October 15th.
Mayor Miedtke read Councilman Sauer's letter indicating the councilman's appro-
val of proceeding with the renovation of the school building for a city hall .
Councilman Haik indicated she still opposed the project because she did not
feel it was apparent to the public what the actual costs would be to move the
city's offices from their present location to the school ; she was not convinced
the move would result in greater efficiencies for the staff, and she did not
feel the same consideration had been given to reducing the estimated costs
of remodeling the City Hall as had been devoted to remodeling costs for the
school building.
Motion by Councilman Stauffer, seconded by Mayor Miedtke to approve the plans
for the remodelling of Parkview School building for city offices and to
authorize the Manager to advertise for bids.
Voting on the motion:
• Aye: Stauffer, Miedtke
Nay: Haik, Sundland
Motion not carried.
