Motion carried unanimously.
• Motion by Mayor Miedtke, seconded by Councilman Stauffer to adopt the title
of ST. ANTHONY VILLAGE CIVIC CENTER for the remodeled Parkview school building
which will house the City administration; police and community service offices.
Motion carried unanimously.
Mr. Dulgar reported that Ramsey County had set a public meeting for con-
sideration of the upgrading of County Road D for 7°30 P.M. , Movember 19th,
in the Wilshire School . He said Pew Brighton and Roseville would also
participate in the meeting.
The Manager then reported on his conversations with Ramsey County regarding
the installation of a pedestrian bridge on the east side of Silver Lake
Road and over the Soo Line tracks.
Motion by Councilman Haik, seconded by Councilman Stauffer to request that
Ramsey County install a pedestrian bridge over the Soo Line Railroad Tracks
on the East side of Silver Lake Road.
Motion carried unanimously.
Several members of the Council indicated an interest in attending the meeting
of the Association of Metropolitan Municipalities to be held October 30th.
• Mayor Miedtke told the Council that Mrs. Peellie Connors who resides in the
St. Anthony Mursing Home will be 100 years of age on November 11th and he
would offer the congratulations of the City to firs. Connors during the
celebration planned in her honor for Movember 3th.
Motion by Councilman Sundland, seconded by Councilman Sauer to direct the
City Manager to make arrangements to send a birthday floral arrangement
to the St. Anthony Nursing Home for the Movember 8th observance of the
100th birthday of Mrs. Hellie Connors.
Motion carried unanimously.
The Mayor then told the Council he had received a request from Mrs. Erving
Lantto, 2712 27th Avenue P .E. that a bus shelter be provided at the MTC
stop near the Dairy Queen in the shopping center. The Manager said there
was some doubt whether the two bus shelters already requested for other points
in the city would be built since the MTC had received so many similar requests
from other communities and the number of people who use this particular stop
would probably not warrant a shelter being built. There was some speculation
whether the merchants of the shopping center would see an advantage in
having a shelter at that location. No action was taken.
Mrs.- Ruth Harris, 3509 Stinson Blvd. N.E. ; is Councilman Stauffer's choice
for appointment to the Human Relations Committee and the Manager was requested
to inform firs. Harris of her appointment.
Councilman Sauer reported the uses which had already been made of the new
community center in the St. Anthony Village Civic Center which included a Teen
Center, open gym for men and women and also volley ball games. He said an
eight member Board of Directors for the Teen Center had been appointed by
the Community Services Advisory Committee.
