Motion by Councilman Sundland and seconded by Councilman Haik to
direct the Acting Manager to solicit tenants for the unused portion
of the old city hall.
Motion carried unanimously.
Mr. Fornell then discussed his recommendations that the Council adopt
a billing policy for private parties who use the City' s Public Works
equipment. He was to discuss any questions regarding the City 's
liability for renting out such manned equipment with the City Attorney
and the City's insurance carrier.
Councilman Sundland said in view of the difficulty the City would
have in subsidizing the care given to City residents by the North
Suburban Development Achievement Center, he could not foresee a
possibility of finding funds in the City's budget for the request from
the Animal Humane Society.
Motion by Councilman Sundland and seconded by Councilman Haik to not
contribute to the Animal Humane Society because of lack of funds.
Motion carried unanimously.
Mr. Fornell will research other sources of funding and the North
Suburban Center's request will be included in the budget considerations
in September.
There was some question as to whether the odd shaped vacant lot on
the southwest corner of Old Highway 8 and 33rd Avenue N.E. , which
Mr. Richard Hara, 3025 Croft Drive had expressed an interest in
purchasing, will have to be replatted before a dwelling can be erected
there. Mr. Fornell said the lot can only be sold by public auction.
Motion by Councilman Sundland and seconded by Councilman Haik to request
the Acting City Manager to consult the City Attorney as to what pro-
cess is necessary to sell the vacant property at the southwest corner
of Old Highway 8 and 33rd Avenue N.E.
Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Councilman Haik and seconded by Councilman Sauer to adopt
the resolution which will designate Highcrest Road between 37th Avenue
N.E. and 33rd Avenue N.E. , as a M.S.A.- road.
RESOLUTION 77-038
A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING HIGHCREST ROAD AS
A MUNICIPAL STATE AID ROAD
Motion carried unanimously.
The June Police Report was filed.
•
(3)
