-2- <br /> Motion by Councilman Sundland and seconded by Mayor Haik to award <br /> the water works project 1979-002 (Stinson Boulevard) to Walbon <br /> Construction. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Motion by Councilman Sundland and seconded by Mayor Haik to approve <br /> Resolution 79-054, appropriating funds for water improvement projects . <br /> RESOLUTION 79-054 <br /> A RESOLUTION APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR <br /> WATER IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS 1979-002 AND 1979-003 <br /> AND CLOSING OUT OF FUND #74A <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> At this time the members of the City Council cast their votes for the <br /> purpose of appointing one of the evening interviewees to the vacant <br /> seat on the Planning Board. Each member listed their three choices <br /> in order, one point being awarded for first choice, two for second, <br /> etc. The tabulated results were Richard Enrooth - seven points; <br /> James Wall - ten points; William Zawislak - thirteen points . Mr. <br /> Forneil was directed to inform Mr. Enrooth of his appointment and <br /> to thank the other individuals for their interest and participation. <br /> The League of Minnesota Cities ' memo regarding Identification of <br /> Legislative Issues by City Councils at the fall regional meetings <br /> was brought to the attention if the Council . ::r. Fornell suggested <br /> and Councilman Sundland agreed that an issue of interest to St. Anthony <br /> is the possibility of allowing municipalities to set up self-insurance <br /> programs . <br /> The League of Minnesota Cities ' memo regarding the August 16 and 17 <br /> Special Task Force Workshop on Levy Limits to be held in Alexandria <br /> was brought to the attention of the Couicil. , <br /> The Comprehensive sewer plan update, as outlined by Mr. Fornell in <br /> his July 19 memo to the Council, was discussed next. Mr. Fornell <br /> stated an updated plan is required to be submitted as mandated by <br /> the Metropolitan Land Planning Act. A plan was prepared in 1975 <br /> by the City Engineer for a cost of $8,000 . An update of the plan <br /> by the City' s present engineer has a cost estimate of $4 ,900 . Mr. <br /> Fornell stated that he felt this cost was too high for an update <br /> of essentially non-technical content and recommended the plan be <br /> updated in-house by City staff. <br /> Motion by Councilman Sauer and seconded by Councilman Sundland that <br /> staff be directed to update the Comprehensive Sewer Plan. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br />
