Each member listed their three choices
in order, one point being awarded for first choice, two for second,
etc. The tabulated results were Richard Enrooth - seven points;
James Wall - ten points; William Zawislak - thirteen points . Mr.
Forneil was directed to inform Mr. Enrooth of his appointment and
to thank the other individuals for their interest and participation.
The League of Minnesota Cities ' memo regarding Identification of
Legislative Issues by City Councils at the fall regional meetings
was brought to the attention if the Council . ::r. Fornell suggested
and Councilman Sundland agreed that an issue of interest to St. Anthony
is the possibility of allowing municipalities to set up self-insurance
programs .
The League of Minnesota Cities ' memo regarding the August 16 and 17
Special Task Force Workshop on Levy Limits to be held in Alexandria
was brought to the attention of the Couicil. ,
The Comprehensive sewer plan update, as outlined by Mr. Fornell in
his July 19 memo to the Council, was discussed next. Mr. Fornell
stated an updated plan is required to be submitted as mandated by
the Metropolitan Land Planning Act. A plan was prepared in 1975
by the City Engineer for a cost of $8,000 . An update of the plan
by the City' s present engineer has a cost estimate of $4 ,900 . Mr.
Fornell stated that he felt this cost was too high for an update
of essentially non-technical content and recommended the plan be
updated in-house by City staff.
Motion by Councilman Sauer and seconded by Councilman Sundland that
staff be directed to update the Comprehensive Sewer Plan.
Motion carried unanimously.
