City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br /> October 8, 2002 <br /> Page 4 <br /> Mr. Morrison noted the liquor referendum will be on November 5th and staff will e-mail the <br /> 2 Council with those results. Mayor Hodson asked for a telephone call as well as an e-mail <br /> 3 update. <br /> 4 <br /> 5 Mr. Morrison stated the Public Facilities Task Force update was held last week and went very <br /> 6 well. <br /> 7 <br /> 8 Mr. Morrison stated the Fire Department Open House will be held on October 9, 2002 and the <br /> 9 pancake breakfast will be held on Sunday, October 13, 2002. <br /> 10 <br /> 11 Councilmember Horst reported he attended the September 25, 2002 open house for Chandler <br /> 12 Place and explained that they recognized the 15th year anniversary for Chandler Place and the <br /> 13 35th year anniversary for the St. Anthony Health Center. He thanked them for the invitation to <br /> 14 this very nice event, and wished them good luck in the future <br /> 15 <br /> 16 Councilmember Sparks had no report <br /> 17 <br /> 18 Councilmember Thuesen had no report. <br /> 19 <br /> 20 Councilmember Faust encouraged all to attend the Fire Department Pancake Breakfast on <br /> 21 October 13, 2002 from 8:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. at City Hall. <br /> 40 Councilmember Faust reminded the community of the October 14, 2002 Candidate Forum <br /> 24 starting at 7:00 p.m. which will be hosted by the Chamber of Commerce. All State Senators and <br /> 25 Representatives for St. Anthony have been invited. Councilmember Faust stated this is an <br /> 26 opportunity to ask questions of those candidates. <br /> 27 <br /> 28 Mayor Hodson stated there was an excellent meeting last Saturday with the Public Works and <br /> 29 Fire Department Task Force. He stated they viewed several examples of buildings that would fit <br /> 30 in St. Anthony. Mayor Hodson stated this is a very energetic task force and the City could not <br /> 31 have selected a better group of people to evaluate this and come up with some options. <br /> 32 <br /> 33 Mayor Hodson stated he has been nominated to sit on the Transportation Advisory Board <br /> 34 through the League of Minnesota Cities. He stated he thinks he can contribute to that group and <br /> 35 would like to follow up on that nomination. However, he has an obligation to serve on the North <br /> 36 Suburban Cable Commission. Mayor Hodson stated he would like to find someone in the <br /> 37 community to serve on this Commission and asked for the Council's input if they know someone <br /> 38 who has that interest. <br /> 39 <br /> 40 Mr. Morrison stated Staff will advertise this opening with a one-year term. It was noted that this <br /> 41 is an important appointment since they will be representing the City of St. Anthony. Mr. <br /> 42 Mornson stated it would be at the appointment of the Council. <br /> 43 <br /> 0 Mayor Hodson stated he can serve as the alternate. <br />
