ANTHONY SHOPPING CENTER <br /> Dear Mr. Mornson: <br /> It is my understanding, as a result of the TIF district established for the Apache Plaza <br /> redevelopment, there are funds which may be available to the St. Anthony Shopping Center for <br /> use in improving the center. <br /> The St. Anthony Shopping Center has been owned by St. Anthony Minneapolis, Inc. since 1963. <br /> During the past five years a significant commitment of funds have been made to improve the <br /> center. Included are installation of new fascia and lighting; a new pylon sign; roof replacements; <br /> parking lot overlaying; and the ongoing costs, such as tenant improvements, to maintain and <br /> attract tenants. The owners have also been encumbered with the significant cost to correct <br /> environmental issues related with the former Mobil site. In all instances, the owners have been <br /> committed to doing what is best and right for the center and the community. <br /> The following estimates have been obtained for a variety of projects to further improve the <br /> shopping center. We request funding of the same through those dollars designated for the <br /> shopping center. <br /> 1) Install new vinyl covering on the soffits of the canopy covering the sidewalks for both <br /> buildings. This will vastly improve the appearance of the canopy one sees while walking between <br /> stores. <br /> Estimated cost: $13,817.00 <br /> 2) Paint both buildings of the shopping center; front, sides, rear, and accent striping.
