LIQUOR STORE EXPANSION UPDATE AND OTHER ISSUES <br /> 2 The Liquor Operations Manager reported that review of the proposed Liquor store <br /> 3 addition to the Tires Plus building is scheduled for the September 17th Planning <br /> 4 Commission meeting. <br /> 5 He also reported that he will continue full restaurant service at the Stonehouse. He <br /> 6 indicated there are several promotional ideas that he is reviewing as part of <br /> 7 developing a marketing plan. <br /> 8 VIII. REVIEW GARBAGE HAULING ORDINANCE. <br /> 9 The City Manager reported that the office has received several calls regarding the <br /> 10 number of garbage haulers in the City. The Council also indicated that they have <br /> 11 received calls as well. Many residents are concerned that there are too many haulers <br /> 12 in the City; they pick up the garbage before 7:00 A.M.; some residents leave out <br /> 13 their garbage can longer than a day; and when the garbage and reryclables are <br /> 14 picked up, the containers are spilled, leaving debris all over the street. The City <br /> 15 Manager reported that the City can issue citations for these violations. The Council <br /> 16 also directed Staff to put an article in the community newsletter reminding the <br /> 17 residents of the ordinances. <br /> 0 IX. COMPREHENSIVE PLAN UPDATE. <br /> 19 The City Manager reported that four land use planning firms have submitted bids <br /> 20 for the Comprehensive Plan Update. The Planning Commission will be reviewing <br /> 21 and selecting a firm to recommend to the City Council at their meeting on <br /> 22 September 17th. The firm will be recommended to the Council at the September <br /> 23 24th Council meeting. <br /> 24 X. REVIEW MIDDLE MISSISSIPPI RIVER WATERSHED MANAGEMENT <br /> 25 ASSOCIATION. <br /> 26 The City Manager reported that he submitted the proposed Middle Mississippi <br /> 27 River Watershed Management Organization documents to the City Attorney for his <br /> 28 review. He also presented the attorney's comments. <br /> 29 Councilmember Enrooth reported on the status of the MMRWD organization. <br /> 30 <br /> 31 XI. REVIEW RESOLUTION ON LIVABLE COMMUNITIES ACT. <br /> 32 The Council recommended to approve the resolution to continue the City's <br /> 33 participation in the local housing incentives program as specified by the LCA at the <br /> 34 September 24th meeting. <br />
