• Update on Projects Related to the July], 1997 Storm Event WSB Project No. 1065.10 February 5, 1998 Page 2 Task No. 4: Sanitary Gate Valve/Check Valve Grant Program A letter outlining our recommendation concerning the City undertaking a check valve/gate valve grant program within the City at this time will be prepared and submitted for your review and the councils review at the March 4`h work session. The estimated cost is approximately $200. Task No. 5: Provide Technical Support for the City's Request for Assistance from the State. It is estimated that continuous follow-up work with state agencies in regard to the City's request for grant assistance from the State of Minnesota, will be an ongoing effort through the Spring of 1998. The estimated cost to complete this task cannot be estimated at this time as the requirements from the state agencies and legislative committees is uncertain as to what scope of detail may need to be provided to these agencies to secure these funds. We shall budget approximately $3,500 for this effort. Task No. 6: Flood Hazard Mitigation Grant Program Application • Continuous follow up on the City's application for FEMA funding in the amount of $700,000 is an ongoing task with which information requests have come to us directly. We will continue to follow up with this effort until a decision is made by FEMA. We shall budget approximately $2,000 for this effort. Task No. 7: National Flood Insurance Program Enrollment We will continue to follow-up as needed on the City's application to participate in the National Flood Insurance Program. We shall budget approximately $500 for this effort. The above represents all the storm water tasks and projects that are ongoing in regard to the flood problems of July 1, 1997.
