CALL TO ORDER. <br /> 8 Meeting called to order at 7:10 p.m. <br /> 9 <br /> 10 The Mayor asked that Ms. Renee Reed be added to the agenda as she would like <br /> 11 to discuss an incident the occurred at Cub Foods. <br /> 12 <br /> 13 H. ROLL CALL. <br /> 14 Councilmembers Present: Ranallo, Marks, Faust, Cavanaugh, and Thuesen. <br /> 15 Also Present: Michael J. Mornson, City Manager; Kim Moore-Sykes, <br /> 16 Management Assistant; Jay Hartman, Public Works; Pete Willenbring, WSB; <br /> 17 and Todd Hubmer, WSB. <br /> 18 <br /> 19 III. UPDATE ON DEDSIGN OF FLOOD GRANT PROGRAM AND OTHER <br /> 20 FLOOD RELATED ACTIVITIES. <br /> 21 The City Manager presented information regarding the City's Stormwater Fund <br /> • 22 balance and the projected revenue as the result of the Stormwater Utility Fee <br /> 23 increase. He also reviewed the memorandum from Hubmer regarding an update <br /> 24 on several tasks being completed as part of the Flood Problem Area Analysis. <br /> 25 The City Manager reported on the status of the City's FEMA grant application <br /> 26 and that WSB has recommended not to pursue a City grant program for <br /> 27 gate/check valve installations for various reasons. <br /> 28 <br /> 29 The Mayor reported on the status of the legislative efforts to secure state funds <br /> 30 for flood mitigation improvements. He indicated that the Department of Natural <br /> 31 Resources (DNR) will be responsible for dispersing state flood mitigation funds <br /> 32 and that representatives from WSB and the City meet with the DNR official. <br /> 33 The Mayor reported that City officials have met with or spoke to Senator Marty <br /> 34 and Representative McGuire on several occasions regarding securing state <br /> 35 funds. <br /> 36 <br /> 37 Todd Hubmer, WSB, reported that he has been in contact with FEMA's <br /> 38 Chicago office. He indicated that they have received the City's application for <br /> 39 disaster relief funds and he will continue to keep in contact with them. <br /> 40 <br /> 41 The City Manager reported that he just preliminary received notification that the <br /> 42 City has been accepted into the National Flood Insurance Program as of <br /> • 43 February 26, 1998. He also reported that the City is at least two months away <br /> 44 from a decision from FEMA. <br /> 45 <br />
