. 1 VIII. QUICK TAKES. <br /> 2 A. Tires Plus Request. The City Manager reported that Tires Plus is <br /> 3 renovating the interior of their portion of the building. He also reported <br /> 4 that he received a letter indicating that bids for the remodeling of the <br /> 5 exterior are between $20,000 - $25,000. He said he will contact the <br /> 6 architect. <br /> 7 <br /> 8 B. Planning Commission Responses. The Council agreed to submit their <br /> 9 responses to the Planning Commission. <br /> 10 <br /> 11 C. Discuss Great Hall Design. The Management Assistant presented photos <br /> 12 and design plans of various city halls from around the metro area. <br /> 13 <br /> 14 D. Information Sign at City Hall. The Council discussed sign designs for <br /> 15 the City Hall. Staff was directed to look at the City of Maplewood City <br /> 16 Hall sign and its reader board. <br /> 17 <br /> 18 E. Certificates of Appreciation for Youth. Councilmember Thuesen <br /> 19 reported on work with school in designing a program to recognize youth, <br /> 20 which will help them to avoid possible pitfalls. He felt that the City <br /> 21 could also have a recognition program, maybe a Junior Villager of the <br /> 22 Year. <br /> . 23 <br /> 24 The Mayor indicated that when he is told about youth achievements, he <br /> 25 sends a letter commending the individual on his or her accomplishments. <br /> 26 <br /> 27 F. Resolution to Change Fees for Police Reports. The City Manager <br /> 28 reported that a resolution increasing Police Reports fees will be on the <br /> 29 agenda for the April 14' Council Meeting. <br /> 30 <br /> 31 G. Telecommunications Ordinance. The City Manager reported that the <br /> 32 proposed telecommunications ordinance is completed but for the fee <br /> 33 scheduled. He reported that the League of Minnesota Cities is currently <br /> 34 doing a survey of metro-area cities and what their fees are. He indicated <br /> 35 that he will schedule the public readings for this ordinance for May 12' . <br /> 36 He said by then the results of the survey will be known and Staff can <br /> 37 complete that portion of the proposed ordinance. <br /> 38 <br /> 39 H. Questions for Residential Survey. The City Manager indicated that he is <br /> 40 working with the Superintendent of Schools on the survey. He will <br /> 41 submit questions about the City for the survey. <br /> 42 <br /> 43 I. Cable Televising of Council Meetings. The City Manager reported that <br /> 44 cablecasting of the Council Meetings is apparently going well. He also <br /> 5 <br />
