CALL TO ORDER. <br /> 8 Meeting called to order at 7:01 p.m. <br /> 9 <br /> 10 II. ROLL CALL. <br /> 11 Councilmembers Present: Ranallo, Marks, Faust, and Thuesen. <br /> 12 Councilmembers Absent: Cavanaugh. <br /> 13 Also Present: Michael Mornson, City Manager; Kim Moore-Sykes, Management <br /> 14 Assistant; Roger Larson, Finance Director; Stuart Bonniwell, Auditor. <br /> 15 <br /> 16 III. DISCUSSION OF FUND BALANCE AND 1997 AUDIT BY THE FINANCE <br /> 17 DIRECTOR AND AUDITOR. <br /> 18 The Finance Director reported on the results of the recently completed the 1997 audit. <br /> 19 He also reported on the status of the police services contracts, indicating that these <br /> 20 funds have provided for squad car purchases, unemployment insurance coverage, <br /> 21 liability and accident insurance coverage. <br /> 22 <br /> 23 Mr. Bonniwell reviewed the year end fund balances and the HRA fund balances with <br /> the City Council. <br /> 5 <br /> 26 The City Manager reported that the audit will be on the May 26' City Council agenda <br /> 27 for Council approval. He indicated that the HRA audit will be on the HRA agenda <br /> 28 following the regular Council meeting on May 26`x. The City Manager said that the <br /> 29 approved audits are required to be submitted to the State Auditor in June. <br /> 30 <br /> 31 IV. DISCUSS EARLY RETIREMENT PROPOSED RESOLUTION. <br /> 32 The City Manager reported that the Finance Director has reviewed the City's previous <br /> 33 early retirement program and found that that program can be offered again this year. <br /> 34 He reported that the proposed resolution approving the early retirement program for <br /> 35 1998 will be on the May 12'h City Council meeting agenda for Council consideration. <br /> 36 <br /> 37 V. REVIEW PARKS COMMISSION ORDINANCE W Reading). <br /> 38 The City manager reviewed the proposed Parks Commission ordinance that establishes <br /> 39 a City Parks Commission. He indicated that any land use issues that the Parks <br /> 40 Commission may be asked to deal with will also go before the Planning Commission. <br /> 41 The City Manager also reported that the June 2' Open House for the Parks will be in <br /> 42 conflict with the regular scheduled School Board Meeting. He suggested that the Open <br /> 43 House be scheduled at 6:00 p.m., with a formal presentation by Bob Kost, BRW, at <br /> 446:15 p.m. He said that the School Board can adjourn to their meeting at 7:00 p.m. <br /> 65 after this formal presentation.
