CITY MANAGER'S UPDATES. <br /> 8 A. Discuss Proposed Ordinance Amendment for Gasoline Service Station Fees. <br /> 9 The City Manager reported that the City's licensing structure for gasoline <br /> 10 stations has become obsolete because of changes in gasoline distribution <br /> 11 technology. He reported that the Finance Director has proposed changing the <br /> 12 licensing ordinance to reflect that change and to make licensing more equitable. <br /> 13 <br /> 14 B. Sidewalk Evaluation Report. The City Manager presented the Public Works <br /> 15 Director's report on the sidewalks in the City. He reported that the proposed <br /> 16 sidewalk reconstruction plan will be on the May 12' City Council meeting <br /> 17 agenda. <br /> 18 <br /> 19 C. Tires Plus Request Update. The City Manager reported that the owner of the <br /> 20 Tires Plus business has begun interior renovation. He said that he had a request <br /> 21 by the owner for the City to consider updating the exterior fagade, which will <br /> 22 make it similar to the fagade of the Liquor Store. The City Manager indicated <br /> 23 that the owner of Tires Plus may pay $25,000 of the cost of the fagade <br /> 24 improvements. The City Council directed the City Manager to continue the ' <br /> 25 dialog with the owner. <br /> 26 <br /> 27 D. Discuss June, July, and August Work Sessions. <br /> 28 <br /> 29 1. June: The City Manager reminded the Council of the Open House being <br /> 30 planned for the Parks. He also reported that excavation may began in <br /> 31 Silver Point Park this fall. <br /> 32 <br /> 33 2. July: The City Manager reported that a work session meeting may not <br /> 34 be needed in July, but if one is needed, it can be scheduled for June 30`h. <br /> 35 <br /> 36 3. August: The City Manager indicated that the regular scheduled work <br /> 37 session is also the same night as National Night Out. The Council <br /> 38 directed the City Manager to schedule the work session August 5'; the <br /> 39 1999 Budget discussion will be scheduled for this worksession. <br /> 40 <br /> 41 E. Trophy Case. The City Manager reported that he has had a request from the <br /> 42 Sports Boosters to provide trophy cases in the Great Hall. The City Council <br /> 43 was not interested in putting trophy cases in the Great Hall at this time. <br /> 44 <br /> 45 F. Flags. The Council decided to have the City's logo as the flag, with the City's <br /> 46 incorporation date on it as well. ' <br /> 2 <br />
