1 Councilmember Cavanaugh stated that he wants to see the City do more local <br /> 2 performance reporting. He indicated that the City should do more than just <br /> 03 meet the requirements, which he said was not the intent of the legislation. <br /> 4 The City Manager stated that the departments do submit weekly reports and staff <br /> 5 attends seminars on local performance measures and reporting. Councilmember <br /> 6 Marks indicated that measurement is a very complex issue and a very difficult <br /> 7 program to put together. <br /> 8 <br /> 9 C. Review Resolution Acknowledging Flood Funding. The City Manager <br /> 10 presented the resolution that will be on the agenda for the June 9'' Council <br /> 11 Meeting. <br /> 12 <br /> 13 D. Discussion of Logo and Color of Water Tower. The City Manager reported that <br /> 14 the bids to paint the water tower are due June 18'''. He indicated that the <br /> 15 Council needs to decide what colors they want the tower painted. The Council <br /> 16 decided blue on eggshell white. <br /> 17 <br /> 18 E. Discussion of Process for Park Commission Interviews. The City Manager <br /> 19 discussed the proposed process. He indicated that it was the one used to select <br /> 20 Planning Commissioners. Councilmember Cavanaugh stated that the Council <br /> 21 should ask in-depth questions in an attempt to determine if the applicants are big <br /> 22 thinkers. <br /> 23 <br /> 4 F. Proposed Telecommunications Ordinance. The City Manager reported that Staff <br /> 5 is continuing to work on the fee structure of the proposed telecommunications <br /> 26 ordinance. He stated that the City of Fridley is presently doing a survey to <br /> 27 determine what other cities are charging for disruption of the right-of-way and <br /> 28 will provide Staff a copy once it is completed. <br /> 29 <br /> 30 G. Dick Enrooth is on the Hennepin County Solid Waste Management Committee <br /> 31 and would like to know the Council's views and concerns on this issue. <br /> 32 <br /> 33 H. John Delmonico has resigned from the Planning Commission. <br /> 34 <br /> 35 I. Early Retirement. The City Manager reported two employees have accepted the <br /> 36 City's offer of early retirement; Jim Lorbeski's last day will be July 17' and <br /> 37 Barb Hickerson's last day will be July 31s'. He stated that the Public Works <br /> 38 Department will be having a retirement party for Lorbeski at the New Brighton <br /> 39 Eagles on July 17`h and that Hickerson had asked not to be given a party. <br /> 40 <br /> 41 J. Schnitzer Update. The City Manager gave the Council an update of the <br /> 42 Schnitzer matter. <br /> 43 <br /> 44 K. NetLink. The City Manger reported that they are finished with their survey of <br /> 45 Staff and it will be presented to the Council at the June 9' Council meeting. <br /> 06 <br /> 4 <br />
