I have made no progress in my negotiations with Mr. Sroga and unless the Council wishes to change their directives to me, I will discontinue my efforts. • ACTION: Council 8. New Business a. Accept Bids and Authorize Award of Contract for Liquor Store Remodeling. Bids will be opened at 3:00 P.M. on 5/28/74 for the liquor store remodeling. Fran Schuck, our architect, expects to have the bids analyzed and will recommend which bidder we award the contract to. ACTION: Provided everything is in order I recommend we award the contract and proceed as soon as possible. b. Discussion of maintenance of hills owned by Equinox. Councilman Haik requested that this item be on the agenda. c. Resolution 1342 City of New Brighton regarding pathway around holding pond. The New Brighton Council adopted the enclosed resolution following our presentation to them on 4-29-74. The s taff needs direction from the council regarding the proposed pathway. ACTION: Council 9. Communications/Petitions a. Letter-Dr. Lawson of N.E. Internists regarding parking. Dr. Lawson and other tenants of the Apache Medical Center have contacted me previously • regarding this problem and I have informed them that they should talk to their landlord instead of me. The landlord did increase the parking sub- stantially last spring but the anter still has problems at times. We can police the fire lanes better but don't have any control over amount of parking. b. Langer Construction Company regarding lighting for Goodyear Store. I recently met with Mr. Marsh regarding the lighting for the Goodyear Store. I told him of the concern some people had because of the 25' poles they had on the site because the city allowed only low level lighting. Mr. Marsh indicated that they interpreted low level lighting to mean low intensity and that the proposed lights were low intensity. He requested that they be allowed to install the lights and if they weren't satisfactory they would make adjustments. I agreed to his request provided we received a letter before the lighting was installed indicating they would change the lighting if the Council didn't approve of it. I received the enclosed, rather ambigious letter after the lighting was installed. ACTION: Council c. Southside Distributing Company regarding Ban the Can -Informational 10. Reports a.
