Communications/Petitions <br /> a. League of Minn. Municipalities regarding Federal Fair Labor Standards Act <br /> Litigation. Carl Wycyawski, President IMM has requested that all members <br /> of the League, if they can, contribute to a fund to be used to challenge the <br /> validity of the Fair Labor Standards Act. This is the act that will cause us <br /> problems with our fire department working tours and schedules as well as the <br /> hours and rescheduling of liquor employees. <br /> ACTION: Recommend we join the suit by contributing $50 as requested by the <br /> IMM. <br /> b. City of St. Paul-NSP Rate Case. Attached please find a letter from the <br /> St. Paul Attorneys office requesting we join them and I assume contribute <br /> to their bird dogging NSP's up coming rate increase request. <br /> ACTION: Council <br /> -11. Reports <br /> a. Police and Fire Report-Please call if you have any questions. <br /> ACTION: File <br /> b. Hans Selvog-Regarding youth work. Enclosed is Han's letter to the HRC. <br /> In addition, Marlys Berg asked that I extend the HRC invitation to attend <br /> their meeting and hear Han's presentation. <br /> ACTION: File <br /> c. Report on Assessment Procedures. Enclosed you will find a memo prepared <br /> by James Fornell and a bulletin from the LMM regarding assessment procedures. <br /> ACTION: I would like the Council to generally review the memo and bulletin <br /> and provide Jim and I with guidelines for preparing a policy for the council <br /> ie-indicate items you consider absolutely necessary or that definitely should <br /> be excluded from our policy. <br /> d. Report re: City Hall the attached memo is intended to answer some of the <br /> questions the Council has had regarding the possibility of our moving to <br /> Parkview School for a City Hall.
