t 1 <br /> • 7. Old Business <br /> A. Park Improvements . A letter from Julie Bjorklund, Chairman <br /> of the Community Services Advisory Council is enclosed. The <br /> Manager will have the shelter structure plans drawn by Construc- <br /> tive Design, Inc. I believe that one tennis court will cost <br /> about $15, 000 - $17, 000 , but there would be funds available for <br /> other purposes. In a memo to the Community Services Advisory <br /> Council, I estimated pathway lighting costs at $7. 00 per month <br /> per light plus the capital cost of running in electrical service. <br /> The Council has been considering assessing the operating cost <br /> of street lighting (this could be included) , especially if we <br /> completed our lighting program. It may be advisable to have the <br /> residents next to the shelter structure review the design. <br /> ACTION: Review Structure Design and Letter from the <br /> Community Services Advisory Council. <br /> B. Activated Railroad Crossing Warning Device - Stinson Boulevard. <br /> Enclosed is a report by Police Chief Hickerson who points out <br /> a couple problems. Also attached is a status report on M.S.A. <br /> funds which are available and can be used for our share of the <br /> cost - estimated at about $5, 000. 00 . The Manager does not have <br /> any strong reaction either way to the proposal. <br /> ACTION: Review and Decide on Participation. <br /> • 8. New Business <br /> A. Memo from Police Chief Hickerson regarding the egg fight. <br /> Several Council members indicated a request for this. The <br /> Manager' s perspective was conveyed in a memo of October 14, 1977. <br /> ACTION: Council . <br /> 9 . Communications/Petitions <br /> A. Winter Maintenance Agreement with Ramsey County. I feel the <br /> reimbursement is quite fair. We have also tentatively negotiated <br /> an 18. 5% increase in our rate with Hennepin County for 1978. <br /> ACTION: Recommend Approval . <br /> B. Letter from Sunset Memorial Park' s Attorney re: Special Assess- <br /> ment for Storm Sewer Improvement Project 1974-1. The Manager <br /> will be prepared to advise on calculation method; the City <br /> Attorney will advise on the strength of our case. <br /> ACTION: Review and Advise Manager and Counsel. <br /> C. Memo from Larry Hamer re: Ramps for polling places. The Manager <br /> recommends that this cost (materials only) be financed from the <br /> Council ' s contingency. <br /> • ACTION: Approve Expenditure from Council ' s Contingency. <br /> (2) <br />
