.o <br /> -4- <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 67-030 <br /> RESOLUTION ORDERING 1967 SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENT, <br /> SILVER LANE, FROM S00 LINE RAILWAY TO OAKWOOD DRIVE <br /> The resolution was duly deconded by Councilman Springer. <br /> Voting on the resolution: <br /> Aye: O'Connor, Dougherty, Springer, Bailey, Sorenson <br /> Nay: None <br /> Resolution declared adopted. <br /> Item #3 Street Improvement, 33rd Avenue from Stinson Boulevard to the West <br /> Line of the St. Anthony High School property was explained in detail by <br /> DeWayne Olson, Village engineer and project costs were outlined as follows : <br /> Total Costs $180,550.00 <br /> State Aid Funds 77,000.00 <br /> Net to be assessed 103,550.00 <br /> Total frontage including 1/3 of side street <br /> assessment 6915' <br /> Cost per front foot on frontage $4.90 per ft. <br /> on 1/3 side frontage 4.96 per ft. <br /> 40 Cost Construction West 1350' 87,900.00 <br /> State Aid Available 77,000.00 <br /> Assessable footage/ 3489' <br /> 3469' @ $11 .00 per ft. 38,400.00 <br /> State Aid funds needed 49,500.00 <br /> It was explained that the $11.00 per foot assessment was the criteria used <br /> on former arterial streets that had been constructed. <br /> Mike Shun stated that he was satisfied with the street and was opposed to the <br /> proposal improvement. Mr. Jams McNulty stated that property owners were still <br /> paying for the present street improvement and felt that the improvement would <br /> create driveway grade problems. He stated that he felt the example of cost <br /> allocation on Stinson Boulevard paving were not related to 33rd Avenue and that <br /> the timing on the taking of bids would not be condusive to obtaining a <br /> good competitive bid for the project. DeWayne Olson, engineer, agreed that <br /> bus traffic had caused a deterioration of the road surface, particularly <br /> the west end. He also stated that a 40' street width was the minimum <br /> that would be approved under state aid funds. James McNulty stated that he <br /> felt the street would become a speed way with the improvement and felt that <br /> additional traffic controls would have to be considered. Mr. Frank Hanson, <br /> 3300 Belden Drive, expressed that he felt the road would become a speedway <br /> and that the rough condition of the road was a deterrent to speeders. Del-Jayne <br /> Olson, engineer, stated that it was true that 37th Avenue N.E. had a higher <br /> traffic count than 33rd and that he was sure state aid funds would be approved <br /> for the proposed intersection correction at 33rd Avenue N.E. and Silver Lake <br /> Road. Councilman Springer asked about the feasibility of using the existing <br /> curbs and upgrading the street. DeWayne Olson, engineer, answered that it was <br />
