r <br /> J -2- <br /> Upon <br /> 2-Upon motion by Councilman Dougherty and seconded by Councilman Springer it was <br /> moved that a variance of twenty-four feet on corner lot, four feet on front <br /> yard, fifteen feet on rear yard, and 48 square feet on size of structure be <br /> granted for a proposed dwelling on lot 29, Block 2, Donnie View Heights. <br /> Motion Carried. <br /> Mr. Mesenbring reviewed the proceedings of the public hearing held to consider <br /> the rezoning of the Apache buffer strip on Silver Lane. Councilman Dougherty <br /> inquired whether any other use beside high rise apartments had been proposed. <br /> Mr. Mesenbring said that no other proposals were shown. Councilman Springer <br /> asked whether the people felt that this was not the proper time to consider the <br /> rezoning or were the people opposed to it. Mr. Mesenbring stated that the <br /> residents were opposed to any change in zoning. The Council took no action to <br /> change the zoning from RI to R2 as requested. <br /> The proceedings on the public hearing to rezone the property at 3309 Stinson <br /> Boulevard from commercial to R2 was considered. Mr. Mesesbring indicated that <br /> the Planning Boards feeling was to maintain a matching zoning with the existinS <br /> uses on the Minneapolis side of Stinson Boulevard and that the buffer property <br /> be zoned R2. Councilman Springer indicated that the present zoning of 3309 <br /> Stinson Boulevard extended the commercial zoning beyond the present zoning on <br /> the west side of Stinson Boulevard. Mrs. Amerman presented a petition of <br /> residents approving the continuation of the present commercial zoning and <br /> requested the Council to let her maintain her business as conducted in her <br /> • house. She also stated that she was not aware of the P.D.Q. Market 's attempt <br /> to build a market on her property. Councilman Springer asked if it was only <br /> her intention to carry on her present business at her residence at 3309 Stinson <br /> Boulevard and Mr. Amerman replied, yes. The Council discussed the extension of <br /> the commercial district beyond the corner property and also the possibility of <br /> operating Mrs. Amerman's business as a nonconforming use. There being no <br /> furhter discussion, Mayor O'Connor moved and seconded by Councilman Sorenson <br /> that the zoning not be changed on the property described as 3309 Stinson Doul- <br /> vard. <br /> Voting on the motion: <br /> Aye: O'Connor, Dougherty, Sorenson <br /> Nay: Springer <br /> Absent not voting : Bailey <br /> Motion Carried. <br /> Mr. Ken Benson, developer, presented a proposal for the building of a restaur- <br /> ant in the St. Anthony Industrial Park. He indicated that the restaurant <br /> was a quality development and that trucks would not present a problem as to <br /> parking. <br /> Councilman Dougherty moved and seconded by Councilman Springer that the <br /> Planning Board be directed to hold a public hearing on the request for zoning <br /> change from Light Industrial to commercial after the conditions of the Ord- <br /> inance covering public hearings are met. <br /> Motion Carried. <br /> f <br /> I <br />
