Mr. DeWayne Olson, Village Engineer, presented the following costs for the
project:
Total project estimate - $178,503.00
Per acre - 1,091.09
Per sq. ft. - .025
Per 10,000 sq. ft. lot - 250.00
Dr. Kirk asked Mr. Olson to describe the limits of Storm Sewer District #4
and Mr. Olson reviewed the areas included.
Miss Schick, 3609 Silver Lake Road, inquired as to direction of drainage as it
• affects her property. Mr. Olson explained that the design of the 37th Ave.
N.E. and Silver Lake Road intersection would cause the drainage from her
property to flow in an easterly direction, however it is possible that Ramsey
County may require a catch basin at the S.E. corner of the intersection.
Mr. Robert Dircks, Berger Transfer Co., inquired as to how the Soo Line
Railroad drainage would be handled adjacent to his property. Mr. Olson
stated that no provisions were made in the proposal for the regrading of the
Soo Line RIW and that the water would be picked up by catch basins at
Macalaster Drive. Mr. Dircks felt there was no benefit to his property.
Mr. Boytel inquired as to the separation of assessments for the District #5
assessment for the holding pond and the District #+ assessment proposal. The
district policy on storm sewer assessments was explained.
Mr. Walter Bochnak inquired as to how property on Silver Lane adjacent to
Fordham Drive would be drained. Mr. Olson explained that the drainage would
be connected to Ditch #3•
Mr. Robert Dircks inquired as to how drainage at 37th and Macalaster Drive
would be handled. Mr. Olson stated that this drainage would be channeled to
Chandler Drive, but that curb and gutter would have to be installed on 37th
to control the surface run off.
Mr. Bernard Blanski, 4029 Silver Lake Road, inquired as to how drainage on
Penrod Lane, north of 39th Ave. N.E. would be handled. Mr. Olson explained
14 that the drainage would be picked up both at 39th Ave. N.E. and at Silver
Lane.
Mr. Dido Mersky, representing Sidney Goodman, inquired as to how the nursing
home properties would be affected. Mr. Olson stated that surface drainage can
be eliminated from the nursing home and that the Chandler Drive property
could be filled and developed.
