-3- After discussion, and recommendation by DeWayne Olson, Village engineer, Councilman Crouse moved and seconded by Councilman Dougherty that the low bid of Palda and Sons Inc. in the amount of $224,410.80 for the paving of Stinson Boulevard north of 37th Avenue N.E. and 37th Place pursuant to an agreement with the City of Columbia Heights and also 33rd Avenue N.E. from Stinson Boulevard to the West property line of the St. Anthony High School be accepted. Voting on the motion: Aye: O'Connor, Dougherty, Springer, Emond, Crouse Nay: None Motion Carried. Councilman Crouse introduced Resolution No. 68-034 and moved that it be adopted. RESOLUTION NO. 68-034 RESOLUTION ORDERING IMPROVEMENT OF 33RD AVENUE N.E. The Resolution was duly seconded by Mayor O'Connor. Voting onihe resolution: • Aye: O'Connor, Springer, Dougherty, Crouse, Emond Nay: None Resolution declared adopted. Councilman Dougherty introduced Resolution No. 68-033 and moved that it be adopted. RESOLUTION NO. 68-033 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF COLUMBIA HEIGHTS FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF STINSON BOULEVARD. The resolution was duly seconded by Councilman Crouse. Voting on the resolution: Aye: O 'Connor, Springer, Dougherty, Crouse, Emond Nay: None Resolution declared adopted. A letter from Robert Lunde regarding gun control was discussed. Raymond Thorsfeldt and Wm. Ferguson expressed opposition to fire arms registration. Council members expressed opinions both pro and con on the matter. Mr. Ferguson stated that gun registration was an infringement on individuals rights. There being no further discussion, Mayor O'Connor, moved and Council- man Emond seconded that the matter of gun control be tabled. Motion Carried.
