-3- <br /> After discussion, and recommendation by DeWayne Olson, Village engineer, <br /> Councilman Crouse moved and seconded by Councilman Dougherty that the low <br /> bid of Palda and Sons Inc. in the amount of $224,410.80 for the paving of <br /> Stinson Boulevard north of 37th Avenue N.E. and 37th Place pursuant to an <br /> agreement with the City of Columbia Heights and also 33rd Avenue N.E. from <br /> Stinson Boulevard to the West property line of the St. Anthony High School <br /> be accepted. <br /> Voting on the motion: <br /> Aye: O'Connor, Dougherty, Springer, Emond, Crouse <br /> Nay: None <br /> Motion Carried. <br /> Councilman Crouse introduced Resolution No. 68-034 and moved that it be <br /> adopted. <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 68-034 <br /> RESOLUTION ORDERING IMPROVEMENT OF 33RD AVENUE N.E. <br /> The Resolution was duly seconded by Mayor O'Connor. <br /> Voting onihe resolution: <br /> • Aye: O'Connor, Springer, Dougherty, Crouse, Emond <br /> Nay: None <br /> Resolution declared adopted. <br /> Councilman Dougherty introduced Resolution No. 68-033 and moved that it be <br /> adopted. <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 68-033 <br /> A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND THE CITY <br /> MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF <br /> COLUMBIA HEIGHTS FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF STINSON <br /> BOULEVARD. <br /> The resolution was duly seconded by Councilman Crouse. <br /> Voting on the resolution: <br /> Aye: O 'Connor, Springer, Dougherty, Crouse, Emond <br /> Nay: None <br /> Resolution declared adopted. <br /> A letter from Robert Lunde regarding gun control was discussed. Raymond <br /> Thorsfeldt and Wm. Ferguson expressed opposition to fire arms registration. <br /> Council members expressed opinions both pro and con on the matter. <br /> Mr. Ferguson stated that gun registration was an infringement on individuals <br /> rights. There being no further discussion, Mayor O'Connor, moved and Council- <br /> man Emond seconded that the matter of gun control be tabled. <br /> Motion Carried. <br />
