McCrossan Company 270,615.50 as specified <br /> Morettini Construction Co. 249,378.00 as specified <br /> Northern Contracting Company 225,000.00 240 days <br /> Beatson and Kelly Contractors, Inc. 252,000.00 180 days <br /> Motion by Councilman Dougherty and seconded by Councilman Levandowski that the bid <br /> of Walbon Company, Inc. in the amount of $181,794.60 for Improvement 1969-1 be <br /> accepted. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> A report by Ron Buhrt, Recreation Director was reviewed relative to an area meeting <br /> held regarding application for park development assistance. <br /> The Village Manager was directed to contact the Columbia Heights City Manager re: <br /> • estimate of legal fees for transit rate intervention proposal. <br /> The Village Attorney reported on legislative bills being introduced on behalf of <br /> the Village. <br /> A representative of Sign Crafters Inc. appeared regarding the Kenzie Terrace <br /> Sinclair station sign. Motion by Councilman Levandowski and seconded by Mayor <br /> O'Connor that the request of Sign Crafters Inc. for the replacement of the Kenzie <br /> Terrace Sinclair station sign be approved. <br /> Voting on the motion: <br /> Aye: O'Connor, Levandowski. <br /> Nay: Crouse, Dougherty. <br /> Absent not voting: Emond. <br /> Mction not carried. <br /> Councilman Levandowski made the following statement regarding the Village Fire <br /> Department: There is not adequate protection in the present set up. There should <br /> be more men or Volunteers to be adequate. There should be a study by the Manager <br /> or Leonard to obtain more men. He stated that, he did not feel that the men lived <br /> close enough to the area. He did not question daytime capability but felt the <br /> evening not adequately manned. A report should be made up on this matter. He <br /> felt that lives and property values were at stake. <br /> Motion by Councilman Crouse and seconded by Mayor O'Connor that a 525.00 change <br /> fund be established for the Recreation Department. <br /> Motion carried. <br />
