-3- <br /> Further <br /> 3-Further action on the report and recommendations from the Public Safety Director <br /> was tabled until the May 12, 1970 meeting at which time Mr. Leonard was asked to <br /> present more definite figures as to the cost for the additions he recommended. <br /> The Council authorized the Public Safety Director to contact the Apache Plaza <br /> people and discuss the possibility of placing a, patrolman up there on a beat <br /> basis and also their paying the cost of it or at least the major part of it. <br /> The Mayor ordered that the March Reports from the Police and Fire Departments <br /> be filed. <br /> The Village Manager reported on the meeting with the Mediation Board for the <br /> Police Department. <br /> Motion by Councilman Kukielka and seconded by Mayor Miedtke to authorize the <br /> Village Manager to proceed with the settling of the police contracts on the <br /> basis of the auxiliary pay of $30.00 per month for the year 1970. <br /> Voting on the motion: <br /> Aye : Miedtke, Levandowski , Kukielka <br /> Nay: Emond <br /> Motion carried. <br /> The Village Manager presented the contract from the Fire Department. <br /> Motion by Councilman Kukielka and seconded by Councilman Levandowski that we <br /> accept the offer from the Fire Department as presented. <br /> Councilman Emond disagreed with Item 16 in the proposed contract, the reduction <br /> of the hours per week from 67.2 to 56, with one man to be appointed July 1st <br /> and one man October 1st, 1970. <br /> Voting on the motion: <br /> Aye: Miedtke, Levandowski, Kukielka <br /> Nay: Emond <br /> Motion carried. <br /> The Mayor ordered the March Liquor Report to be filed. <br /> The Village Manager was directed to draw up an ordinance on the collection of <br /> assessments for presentation at the next meeting and this was to be put on the <br /> agenda for the next meeting. <br /> Mayor Miedtke recommended that we make a commendation to Father Sisterman for <br /> his work on the Human Relations Advisory Committee. <br /> The Village Manager was directed to contact the Highway Department and find out <br /> the requirements and cost of a signal at Foss Road and 37th Avenue N.E. <br />
