-6- The Suburban Health Nursing 3rd Quarter 1973 report was discussed and filed as informational. Mr. Dulgar reported that Miss Doyle, Director of the Nursing Service plans to attend a Council meeting to discuss the services they extend to the community. The Police and Fire Reports for November were filed with the Council indicating a desire to commend both departments for the excellent cooperation illustrated at a recent fire. Motion by Councilman Sundland, seconded by Councilman Haik to approve payment to Comstock & Davis in the amounts of $222.98, $170.54, $472.18, $5,448.55, $815.26• Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Sundland., seconded by Councilman Stauffer to approve payment of $1,493.25 to the Dorsey Firm. Motion carried. Councilman Stauffer reported a complaint from a resident of the hazard to bicycle riding caused by the storm sewer grates near her residence. Mr. Dulgar reported the Maintenance Department is working on improvement of all grates although he also pointed out that turning the grates often interferred with proper drainage. Councilman Sundland expressed his gratitude for the concern shown by the Council • members and members of the staff at the time of his father's death. Councilman Sauer said he was impressed with the liquor store reports and Mr. Dulgar said he would pass on to the store managers Councilman's Sauer's commendation for the good report. Motion by Councilman Sauer and Seconded by Councilman Sundland to direct the Manager to convey the thanks of the Council to the various members of the staff for the tremendous job they did in 1973• Motion carried. Councilman Haik expressed her chagrin at noting that the City of St. Anthony is involved in the court case against the Metro Sewer Authority. Mr. Dulgar explained that we are part of a joint powers agreement with other communities which necessitates our involvement in the suit. It was decided that Councilman Stauffer and Sauer and Mr. Dulgar would meet at 9:30 A.M. January 21st with Fire Department personnel regarding the future purchase of a new piece of fire apparatus discussed at the last Council meeting. Mr. Dulgar reported the availability to all Council members of the Minnesota ]Legislative Bulletins. Mayor Miedtke told the Council that the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners would meet in the St. Anthony Council Chambers at 7:30 P.M. February 4, 1974 and expressed the hope that the library survey would be available for discussion that evening. It was decided that Mayor Miedtke, Councilman Stauffer and Haik will meet with the St. Anthony School Board regarding the possibility of the vacation of one of the elementary buildings and its use by the city.
