• -2- <br /> Mr. & Mrs. Henkel appeared before the Council requesting preliminary plat approval <br /> for the property at 3824 Foss Road, after a discussion of this matter with the <br /> • Council, the following motion was made: <br /> Motion by Councilman Sauer, seconded by Councilman Sundland to grant approval to <br /> the preliminary plat for the Henkel Addition. <br /> Voting on the motion:= <br /> Aye: Haik, Sauer, Sundland, Stauffer <br /> Nay: Miedtke <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Ms. Patty Jakacki and Mr. Jim Kalina appeared before the Council with a group of <br /> teenagers and presented a petition to the Council to extend the curfew hours from <br /> the present time of 10 P.M. to 11 P.M. and expressed their reasons for the <br /> request. <br /> Extensive discussion ensued and the following motion was made: <br /> Motion by Councilman Sundland, seconded by Councilman Sauer to appoint a committee <br /> of three students, two parents, Chief of Police and a member of the Community <br /> Services Department to study this issue and report back 'to the Council on March 12. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Mr. Len Bisanta, Mr. Len Larson and Mr. Elmer Iverson appeared before the Council <br /> • andequested Preliminary approval of the application for a liquor license for <br /> the American Legion Club on Kenzie Terrace. <br /> This matter was discussed in detail, and the following motions were made: <br /> Motion by Councilman Stauffer to reject approval request. . . .motion died for lack <br /> of a second. <br /> Motion by Mayor Miedtke, seconded by Councilman Sundland to table action on this <br /> request for license until February 12th and direct City Attorney to review the <br /> questions brought up by the Council in this regard, and Legion members return at <br /> that time with plans on the operation of their establishment should the license <br /> be approved. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Council declared a 10 minute recess at 9:30. . . .Reconvened at 9:40. PM, all Council <br /> members still present. <br /> Mr. Jim Brown, Director of the Salvation Army Camp on Silver Lake Road appeared <br /> before the Council requesting a sign variance for the free standing sign at the <br /> Camp. <br /> Council considered the request and discussed it after viewing photos of the sign <br /> and the following motion was made: <br /> • Motion by Councilman Sundland, seconded by Councilman Sauer to grant permit for <br /> the free standing sign at the Salvation Army Camp because the Council feels that <br /> all conditions for granting a variance as outlined in the ordinances exist in <br /> this case.
