-2- <br /> f No one appeared to explain the petition for street lighting in the alley south <br /> of 27th Avenue N.E. and the motion was made by Councilman Sundland, seconded by <br /> Mayor Miedtke to table action on the request. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Mr. Phillip Hagen, 3108 Roosevelt St. N.E. , spokesman for a group of his <br /> neighbors, presented their petition to the Council requesting that a portion <br /> of the three lots owned by Mr. & Mrs. Joe Sroga at the corner of St. :nthony <br /> Road and Roosevelt Street be set aside as a mini park to provide a play area <br /> for the more than 60 very young children of the neighborhood who now play on <br /> the empty lots and who have no other nearby park. The petition was supported <br /> by a number of the residents who attended the meeting. Councilman Sauer invited <br /> the members of the group to attend the meeting of the Community Services <br /> Committee March 20th where he said their proposal could be incorporated into <br /> other proposals for the community as a whole which are under consideration by <br /> the committee at the present time. <br /> Motion by Mayor Miedtke, seconded by Councilman Sauer to refer the proposal for <br /> a mini park to the Community Services Committee and to request the committee <br /> report back to the Council at their next meeting. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> The meeting was recessed at 8:50 P.M. and reconvened at 9:00 P.M. <br /> Motion by Councilman Sauer, seconded by Councilman Sundland to grant to the <br /> Women's Club of St. Qharles Borromeo Church a temporary beer license so that <br /> • beer might be served at the Mardi Gras from 4:00 to 8:00 March 24, 1974, subject <br /> to presentation to the Council of an insurance certificate which would name <br /> the City of St. Anthony as a co-insured and providing there is an assurance of <br /> adequate police security during the festival.
