Johnson reported that action on granting conceptual approval of an office <br /> building proposed for erection on the Walbom property at 3242 Old Highway 8 was <br /> deferred to a later date with Mr. Walbom's agreement with the delay. <br /> • Mr. George Marks of the Planning Board arrived at 7:55 P.M. and sat in as an <br /> interested spectator. <br /> Motion by Councilman Stauffer, seconded by Councilman Sundland to direct the <br /> Planning Board to hold a public hearing at their next meeting on Mr. Joseph <br /> S.roga, Jr's request for lot width variances of 3 feet each for two lots he owns <br /> at 3200 and 3204 Roosevelt St. N.E. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> After Mr. Johnson detailed the tour of open spaces proposed to be made by the <br /> Planning Board April 30, 1974,the minutes were filed. <br /> Since Mr. Dulgar and Councilman Haik and Sundland were to represent the Council at <br /> a meeting that evening of the New Brighton Council to explain plans for a pathway <br /> around New Brighton's side of the holding pond at Mirror Lake Manor, it was <br /> decided to defer action on some of the items on the agenda. <br /> Mr. Roy Anderson, 3217 Hilldale Avenue N.F. and his neighbor, Mr. Walt Anderson, <br /> 3300 Hilldale appeared to explain Mr. Anderson's letter in which he requested a <br /> venting of the water pressure at the top of the hill near their homes in an <br /> effort to clear up water quality difficulties they were experiencing whenever there <br /> was a break in the main water line. <br /> Motion by Mayor Miedtke and seconded by Councilman Sauer to table action on Mr. <br /> Anderson's request for a hydrant to be installed near his home until the next <br /> meeting when Mr. Dulgar was directed to furnish further information on any other <br /> areas of the city where similar problems had been reported. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Motion by Councilman Sundland, seconded by Councilman Sauer to adopt Resolution <br /> 74-017. <br /> RESOLUTION 74-017 <br /> RESOLUTION RELATING TO THE APPORTIONMENT OF <br /> SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS FOR LOCAL IMPROVEMENTS <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Motion by Mayor Miedtke, seconded by Councilman Sundland not to sign the letter <br /> prepared by the Human Rights Committee to be sent to Judge Arthur but at the same <br /> time not to discourage the committee from sending the letter signed by the members <br /> of the committee whose sentiments it reflected. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Mayor Miedtke, Councilman Stauffer and Councilman Sauer will attend the luncheon <br /> Friday with the editor of the Sun Newspapers for this area and in their discussion <br /> of the service the Sun provides to the City of St. Anthony they will also convey <br /> the Council's desire to have him appear at a meeting where a number of community <br /> • leaders will be able to present their views on coverage of city events by the Sun. <br />
