_3_ <br /> • Motion by Councilman Sundland, seconded by Mayor Miedtke to refer the petition for <br /> tennis facilities at Emerald Park to the Community Services Advisory Board for <br /> their recommendations. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> After Mr. Dulgar's report on bids received for the renovation of the municipal <br /> liquor lounge, the following motions were made: <br /> Motion by Councilman Sauer, seconded by Councilman Stauffer to accept the bids <br /> and award the contract for carpeting to the low bidder, Prestige Carpet Company <br /> for $2,977.76, subject to verification by the Manager of items deleted from the <br /> bid. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Motion by Councilman Sundland, seconded by Councilman Sauer to authorize the <br /> architect to extend the time bids for lighting fixtures and bar equipment could <br /> be taken to 3:00 P.M. July 15, 1974 because no bids had been received for either <br /> by the previously set bid date. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Because of his crowded schedule, Mr. Dulgar reported the fiscal consultant had <br /> requested that his meeting with the Council regarding assessment procedures be <br /> • held at a noon luncheon rather than at a regular Council meeting. <br /> Motion by Councilman Sauer, seconded by Councilman Sundland to direct the Manager <br /> to set up a lunch meeting with representatives of Springsted Inc. , the fiscal <br /> consultant for August 7,8 or 9th. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Mayor Miedtke gave a supplementary report to that given by Councilman Stauffer <br /> at the last meeting on the League of Minnesota Municipalities meeting with <br /> particular attention given to the training sessions being offered by the <br /> Association to promote good working relations between municipal councils and <br /> city management. <br /> Motion by Mayor Miedtke, seconded by Councilman Sauer that at the meeting July 15 <br /> where interviews would be held for positions on the Planning Board there should <br /> also be consideration of the Water Improvement Project and contracts for the <br /> liquor lounge renovation. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Mr. Dulgar brought the Council up to date on negotiations between the 49'ers and <br /> the Maintenance Department, including the agreement on hospitilization benefits <br /> and their relationship to the longevity benefits as well as his efforts to <br /> negotiate uniformity of benefits received by workers in all the city departments. <br /> • Mayor Miedtke said his reluctance to grant any more conditional use permits before <br /> the zoning ordinance had been brought up to date accounted for his vote against <br /> the following motion: <br /> Motion by Councilman Sauer, seconded by Councilman Stauffer to grant a conditional <br /> use permit exclusively to Mrs. Lorraine Witz in order that she might operate a <br /> day care center for a maximum of three children in her home at 3201 Diamond 8 Terr. <br />
