-3- <br /> Mr. Dulgar presented the sketches of the proposed plans from Ramsey County for up- <br /> grading County Roads C and D and pointed out the extensive right of ways the <br /> Highway Department wanted the City to acquire to provide for the roadway they <br /> • anticipated building. <br /> Motion by Councilman Stauffer, seconded by Councilman Haik to ask Ramsey County to <br /> include in any plan for upgrading 37th Avenue N.F. the installation of a traffic <br /> semaphore with a pedestrian control at the intersection of Foss Road and 37th. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Motion by Councilman Haik, seconded by Councilman Sauer to direct the City Manager <br /> to inform Ramsey County that the Council is aware of the pressing need for the <br /> upgrading and improvement of 37th Avenue N.F. east of Silver Lake Road, but, in <br /> view of the prevailing economic conditions, to recommend that the Highway Depart- <br /> ment's present estimated right of way requirements for their proposed plan be <br /> revised with consideration given to the construction of a 4-lane, non--divided <br /> roadway with pedestrian walkways within the limits of the right of ways they <br /> presently hold. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> There was an indication of which Council members planned to attend the Legislative <br /> Action Conference of the League of Minnesota Municipalities on February 26th. <br /> Motion by Councilman Haik, seconded by Councilman Stauffer to grant an additional <br /> leave without pay to City employee, Vi Vescio. <br /> • Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Motion by Councilman Sauer, seconded by Councilman Haik to adopt resolution <br /> indicating the City's support of the Police Selection Standard Study. <br /> RESOLUTION 75-013 <br /> RESOLUTION FOR SUPPORT OF POLICE <br /> SELECTION STANDARDS STUDY <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Mr. Dulgar and Mayor Miedtke told of the decision made at a recent meeting of <br /> suburban officials to take steps to combat the misinformation it was felt was <br /> contained in the Minneapolis Tax Study. <br /> Councilman Stauffer urged the Council members to study and voice their opinions <br /> of the regulations governing metro growth which would be considered during the <br /> public hearing conducted at the meeting of the Metro Council on March 10th. <br /> The manager told of the City's efforts to collect the delinquent license fees <br /> saying that the Police Department would call on such business establishments who <br /> had not paid such fees advising them of the penalties which would be invoked if <br /> such fees were not immediately submitted. <br /> An amendment to the ordinance relating to sewer rates and charges was discussed with <br /> the City Attorney and changes in the wording of the proposed amendment to set the <br /> amount to be charged home owners who had not submitted the required reading was <br /> considered with the decision made that such a charge should represent the total <br /> . ..
