I CITY OF ST. ANTHONY <br /> COUNCIL MINUTES <br /> March 11,1975 <br /> The meeting was called to order by Mayor Miedtke at 7:32 P.M. <br /> The following were present for roll call: Sundland, Miedtke, Stauffer <br /> Absent: Haik, Sauer <br /> Also present: Jerry Dulgar, City Manager <br /> Larry Vickrey, City Attorney <br /> Jim Fornell, Adm. Asst. <br /> The minutes of the February 25, 1975 meeting were amended as follows: <br /> Page 2, Para. 6: Insert "within" to read "construction begun "within" <br /> 24 months. <br /> Motion by Councilman Stauffer, seconded by Councilman Sundland to approve the <br /> minutes as amended. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Terry Hoffman of the Human Relations Committee discussed the committee's minutes <br /> of February 18, 1975 and requested that the committee be allowed some input into <br /> • the administration of the new rent assistance program. <br /> The Public Hearing on the vacation of that portion of Coolidge Street adjacent <br /> to and behind the Northgate Motel opened at 7:40 P.M. <br /> Mr. Raymond Lazar of the law firm of Lapp, Lazar, Laurie and Smith, 1200 Builders <br /> Exchange Bldg. , and Mr. Steve Chamison, President of the Minnesota Motels, Inc. <br /> said the motel management wanted the street vacated so they could improve the <br /> appearance of the area, have additional parking space, if needed, and could do <br /> something to eliminate the pond which developed from air conditioner runoff. <br /> They also expressed a willingness to give the City easements, if required for <br /> storm sewer or water lines, even if they covered the whole street. <br /> No one appeared to speak in opposition of the vacation of the road. <br /> The Public Hearing was closed at 7:50 and action on the request was tabled until <br /> the March 25 Council meeting since the number of council members was less than <br /> the four required for approval. <br /> Motion by Councilman Sundland, seconded by Councilman Stauffer to approve <br /> Resolution #75-016 to which the following reason was added: <br /> . Since the City of St. Anthony lies partially in Hennepin County the <br /> City would still be required to provide police services for that portion. <br /> RESOLUTION 75-ol6 <br /> RESOLUTION EXPRESSIP;G OPPOSITION TO A <br /> .
