• Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Motion by Mayor Miedtke and seconded by Councilman Stauffer to nomin- <br /> ate Wayne Courtney of Edina for the League of Minnesota Cities ' C.C. <br /> Ludwig Award for distinguished municipal service. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Motion by Councilman Sundland and seconded by Councilman Sauer to <br /> affirm Mr. Fornell 's statements regarding the Metropolitan Council 's <br /> housing performance profile for St. Anthony as contained in his <br /> February 1st letter to the Metropolitan Council H.R.A. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> The Fire and Police Reports for December were filed. <br /> Motion by Mayor Miedtke and seconded by Councilman Sundland to table <br /> action on the sewer rate revisions suggested by Mr. Fornell until the <br /> next Council meeting, March 1 , 1977. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> The Administrative Assistant then relayed the request from the Chair- <br /> man of the Planning Board that the City Attorney attend the Public <br /> • Hearing on the Hedlund rezoning request to be conducted by the Board <br /> during their February 15th meeting. <br /> Motion by Councilman Sundland and seconded by Councilman Stauffer to <br /> authorize the City Attorney to attend the Public Hearing to be held <br /> during the Planning Board's meeting February 15 , 1977. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Mr. Fornell then asked the Council 's guidance regarding the large, <br /> unscreened dumpster which the new Speedy Market proposes to use in <br /> place of the enclosed refuse and trash area which was part of their <br /> site plan. The Council and Attorney were in agreement that the trash <br /> should be handled in the manner agreed upon and that a dumpster will <br /> be in violation of the approval agreement. . <br /> The meeting was closed to the public from 11 :00 to 11: 10 P.M. to allow <br /> the Attorney to discuss with the Council a settlement offer he had re- <br /> ceived in the Barb Davidson lawsuit. The conversation was to be re- <br /> sumed after completion of the official business and the adjournment. <br /> Mayor Miedtke reported that Jeff Shelstad had asked to discuss a re- <br /> vised proposal for the hockey rink at Central Park at the next Council <br /> meeting. The Mayor also related a recent conversation he had with a <br /> man from Wilmar which seemed to contradict in part the claims made re- <br /> garding the effectiveness of the fund raising firm which the St. An- <br /> thony group proposes to hire to solicit funding for the rink. <br /> (5) <br />
