• Mayor Miedtke felt the campers would not represent a benefit to the <br /> residents of St. Anthony as a whole and conversely could become a <br /> detriment to the City and proposed the following: <br /> Motion by Mayor Miedtke and seconded by Councilman Stauffer to deny <br /> the request that overnight campers be allowed to use the parking <br /> lots of Apache Plaza from June llth through 19th, 1977 because of <br /> lack of specific information. <br /> Voting on the motion: <br /> Aye: Miedtke, Stauffer, Sauer and Haik <br /> Nay: Sundland <br /> Motion to deny, carried. <br /> The letter from Representative John Sarna agreeing to support the <br /> changes in H.F. 448 changing the hours of voter registration was <br /> filed. <br /> No action was taken regarding the purchasing of liability insurance <br /> which would cover the City officials and staff. <br /> Since the City is indirectly represented by the associations to which <br /> it belongs, the Manager said he could see no advantage to having fur- <br /> ther representation on the Hennepin County Criminal Justice Council <br /> and no further action was taken on the matter. <br /> No City action was considered necessary regarding the claim by a re- <br /> sident on 29th Avenue N.E. for alleged damage to her home foundations <br /> by work done by the Dunkley Company on that street. <br /> The AMM Bulletin was filed as informational. <br /> The January and February reports from the Fire Department was filed. <br /> Councilman Stauffer reported complaints from residents near the St. <br /> Anthony Hich School regarding the students frequenting the area behind <br /> the bleachers during the late evening hours . There was also discus- <br /> sion of recent violations on school ground of ordinances against <br /> drinking alcoholic beverages and though it was felt the control of <br /> school property is the school 's responsibility, the Council felt the <br /> Police Department deserved to know that the Council expects them to <br /> enforce all ordinances regarding the use of liquor or drugs whether <br /> on school property or on public roads. <br /> Councilman Haik left the meeting at 9 :00 P.M. <br /> Jim Fornell said that though preliminary figures indicated that <br /> there might be 150 homes in the City which might be considered sub- <br /> standard and might qualify for aid in upgrading, many of these might <br /> (6) <br />
