• problem for them to get around the lake. <br /> Councilman Stauffer felt Mr. Van Tassel was talking about a highly <br /> developed park and said most of the work contemplated involved main- <br /> tenance except the plans for shoring up—the retaining wall and level- <br /> ing the shoreline on the north side. Councilman Stauffer said she <br /> believed the improvements would benefit the New Brighton properties <br /> and Mayor Miedtke agreed saying the bank stabilization which is con- <br /> templated will contribute to the preservation of the pond. He felt <br /> the aesthetics of the access road area should be enhanced and favored <br /> repairing the chain link fence protecting the spillway. <br /> Dennis Engle of the Mirror Lake Owners Association Board said there is <br /> an apathetic attitude on the part of most of the condominium owners <br /> regarding improving the pond. <br /> Motion by Mayor Miedtke and seconded by Councilman Haik to proceed, if <br /> CETA funding is available, to stabilize the bank and shoreline around <br /> the holding pond; to delineate the City property line and to improve <br /> by grading and landscaping the access road to the City property around <br /> the pond. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Before recessing the meeting at 8 :25 P.M. , the Mayor told the New <br /> • Brighton residents that their City officials had been in close touch <br /> with the City's actions and were supportive of their constituents ' <br /> interests in the matter. <br /> The meeting was resumed at 8 : 35 P.M. to consider the Manager's recom- <br /> mendations regarding the bids which had been received for concrete, <br /> oil, aggregate and blacktop, copies of which were attached to the <br /> Agenda. <br /> Motion by Councilman Sauer and seconded by Councilman Haik to accept <br /> the low bids and award the contracts for concrete, oil, aggregate and <br /> blacktop to the low bidders as follows : <br /> COMPANY PRODUCT <br /> Ready Mix Concrete Company Concrete <br /> Koch Company Oil <br /> Barton Contracting Aggregate <br /> Dunkley Surfacing Inc. Blacktop <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Motion by Councilman Sauer and seconded by Councilman Haik to schedule <br /> a joint Council/Planning Board dinner meeting for either June 6th or <br /> June 23rd at which the City Attorney will conduct a training session <br /> related to variances, conditional use permits , etc. <br /> • Motion carried unanimously. <br /> (3) <br />
