INFORMATION AND ANNOUNCEMENTS. <br /> 2 Councilmember Sparks noted that a group of residents were organizing an Intergenerational Theater <br /> 3 Project for the summer. She added that tryouts would be held at the High School next week on <br /> a Thursday and Friday evenings. <br /> 5 Councilmember Thuesen stated that the current library system would still be in the Shopping Center, <br /> 6 but the owners of the Shopping Center were not ready to publicly comment on where the new library <br /> 7 would go. He added that their latest estimation could be by the end of July, and the new library would <br /> 8 be more updated, and larger than the current library system. Councilmember Thuesen added it could <br /> 9 be up and running by November 16" <br /> 10 Councilmember Thuesen added that he read the letter from Assistant City Manager Sue Henry <br /> I I regarding muffler noise, etc. He stated he would be anxious to see how it turns out, as he does not see <br /> 12 how it can be legislated. Councilmember Hodson stated that it is more of a small warning that gives the <br /> 13 officers the use of another enforcement tool. <br /> 464 Mayor Cavanaugh stated that noise is an issue for anyone living on the main roads. He stated that he <br /> 5 was entertaining the idea to have the newspaper to do a story on the noise from illegal mufflers. He <br /> 16 stated that noise is a quality of life issue. <br /> 17 Mayor Cavanaugh stated that the worst part of being issued a speeding ticket was being pulled over. <br /> 18 He added that putting a sign up just encourages awareness and sensitivity to the noise issue. <br /> 19 Mayor Cavanaugh mentioned a letter he received from the daughter of the first mayor for the City of St. <br /> 20 Anthony. She is a senior now, who plays cards in the atrium, and asked why she has to pay a fee to <br /> 21 come up here and play cards. Mayor Cavanaugh stated that because card playing in the atrium is <br /> 22 under the community services umbrella, and community services charges fees for their programs. <br /> 23 Mayor Cavanaugh added that this was not the first time that the issue has come up, and wanted the <br /> 24 Council to be aware of his response. <br /> 25 XIV.
