COMPRESSED GAS - GENERAL HANDLING AND STORAGE <br /> Standard: <br /> The following requirements apply to the use, handling and storage of compressed <br /> gas cylinders. <br /> A. Cylinders must have label indicating contents. <br /> B. Cylinders must be kept away from sources of heat, open flame, sparks, etc. <br /> If this is not possible, fire resistant shields must be used. <br /> C. Cylinders must be stored in an assigned place, at least twenty (20) feet <br /> from highly combustible materials. They may not be stored in enclosed <br /> structures such as lockers. Oxygen and acetylene cylinders must not be <br /> stored within twenty (20) feet of each other unless kept within an approved <br /> type barrier or "in use" on a welding rig. <br /> D. An oxygen jet must not be allowed to contact any oily or greasy surface, <br /> fabric or container. <br /> E. Oxygen, acetylene or fuel cylinders may not be brought into a confined <br /> area. <br /> F. Cylinders must be inspected for flaws or damage. Defective cylinders may • <br /> not be used. <br /> G. The valve cap must be in place when the cylinder is not in use (where <br /> cylinder is so designed). <br /> H. Cylinders must be used and stored in upright position. They must be <br /> chained or secured at all times. Valves, regulators and other equipment <br /> must be clean and free of oils and grease. <br /> I. Only cylinders properly equipped, maintained and otherwise meeting <br /> applicable standards shall be used. <br /> J.
