(2) A complete cross-section contour survey of the Site with <br /> • sufficient detail as is necessary for the Architect to design the <br /> Project to be erected thereon. <br /> (3) Location and character of any existing buildings now on Site <br /> (including buildings and structures to be removed). <br /> (4) Grades and lines of streets, curbs, pavements, walks, drives and <br /> adjoining properties. <br /> (5) The rights, restrictions and easements, and full information, <br /> including location and depths of all aqueducts, cesspools, sewers, <br /> water, gas and electrical service lines, on the Site and in the <br /> streets adjoining and adjacent to the Site. <br /> (6) The points of the compass. <br /> B. The test borings and pits. The Architect shall be fully responsible for <br /> the selection and determination of the location and number of such <br /> test borings and pits. <br /> 5.4 The City shall be responsible, through its duly authorized representatives, for <br /> the audit of all accounts presented for payment. This shall not relieve the Architect <br /> • of the primary obligation to correctly certify as to the correctness of estimates and <br /> payments due on account as the Work progresses and is completed. <br /> 5.5 If the City observes or otherwise becomes aware of any defect in the Project, the <br /> City shall give prompt written notice thereof to the Architect. <br /> 5.6 Notwithstanding any other provision of this Agreement, the City shall not <br /> assume the responsibilities of the Architect nor shall the Architect presume that the <br /> City has any knowledge or expertise in any area of the Work. Neither any action or <br /> inaction by the City with respect to the construction of the Work shall relieve the <br /> Architect of its responsibilities under this Agreement or the Contract Documents. <br /> 5.7 The City shall provide the Architect with timely approvals and responses to <br /> requests for information and shall not unreasonably delay the progress of the Work. <br /> ARTICLE 6. PAYMENTS TO THE ARCHITECT. <br /> 6.1 Payments on account of the Architect's Basic Services and Reimbursable <br /> Expenses shall be made monthly in proportion to services performed to increase the <br /> • -12- <br />
