• 2.3. Collect and retain reporting forms from Participating Cities together with any other <br /> materials which Participating Cities direct to be retained or submitted to the court. <br /> 2.4. Collect from the Participating Cities relevant statistics on selection of minorities <br /> for entry level police positions. <br /> 2.5. Make such periodic reports to the court on behalf of the Participating Cities as are <br /> required by the Order. <br /> 2.6. Undertake certain affirmative action activities on behalf of Participating Cities <br /> which are more economically or effectively accomplished by the cooperative effort <br /> of the cities than by each or all of the cities acting independently. Such activities <br /> include the following: <br /> 2.6.1. develop relationships through outreach activities with recruiting resources <br /> and individuals who can be helpful in disseminating information and <br /> recruiting activities. <br /> 2.6.2. develop brochures or literature relating to law enforcement careers and <br /> career opportunities generally and provide for distribution of such <br /> information to various community groups,agencies, publications, etc. and <br /> specifically to appropriate offices of Minneapolis and St. Paul public <br /> • schools. <br /> 2.6.3. maintain a list of persons who are willing to provide speakers in law <br /> enforcement careers and providing this information to interested <br /> community groups, schools, etc. <br /> 2.6.4. collect information on the availability of financial assistance to persons <br /> who wish to pursue education in law enforcement and provide for the <br /> distribution of such information to the cities, community groups, high <br /> schools, etc. <br /> 2.7. Seek modification of, or release from the Order. No such modification shall be <br /> undertaken without prior notification to Participating Cities; and Participating <br /> Cities are free to decline to participate in any submission to the court, and to <br /> secure and provide their own representation in any such proceeding. <br /> 3. Election to participate. Any city which is a defendant in the Action and which does not <br /> have due and unpaid financial obligations to the MPRS may apply to become a <br /> Participating City by filing with the secretary of the MPRS a certified resolution of its <br /> city council authorizing such participation and agreeing to share in the costs of providing <br /> such services. Each such city shall become a Participating City upon approval and <br /> acceptance of the form of the city's resolution by the MPRS Executive Committee. <br /> • 4. Termination of Participation by the MPRS.
